The 250 million smart meter potential, in India, is not really 250 million " smart " meters, as such. The term " smart meter " is used a lot in tender publications. But a number of the meter tenders are not " smart " as we know it. They are just smarter meters than what they already have.

But that I feel will change, as time passes.

From information received via CyanConnode, we can ascertain what the market potential is for smart meters, especially for the RF smart meter projects, in which CyanConnode are interested in, which you may find of interest.

- 250 million estimated to be required/replaced over 3 years. ( Indian Government estimate.) Anil suggests it will be more than likely be over the next 5 years.

- 125 million or 50% of the original total, should translate into smart meters. ( Over 5 years.) Which by definition must mean that 125 million are not smart meters as we know it. Rural and village locations, will not have a need for smart meters. No fridge freezers, air conditioning, etc., just the basics are required. But this is an area that may change.

- Approximately 60 million smart meters of the 125 million smart meters, with the knowledge and information that CyanConnode have picked up over the years, in India, should translate into RF meters. ( Over 5 years.)

- And conservatively, Anil and the Company, again with local knowledge, estimate that CyanConnode could potentially gain 20% at least, of the total RF market. So somewhere between 11m and 12 million units, over a 5 year period, in India.

But we will have to see whether the development of the Hybrid unit, will impact on any of the projections, for the CyanConnode targeted market.

...... for India in particular, has increased its potential during 2019, with the development of the Hybrid unit. As Pedro and tonyj have discussed over the weekend, with all share-holders looking forward to seeing how it is received in India, initially.

But what will also be interesting to find out, is can/if/will the Hybrid solution originally developed for India, be integrated into other Cellular networks globally, for smart metering.

As Pedro mentioned yesterday, the Hybrid RF Mesh/Cellular Communications Network order, for India, was received during April 2019.

During July 2019, CyanConnode " ....... received a follow-on order from Toshiba, worth approximately £219,000, for service enhancements, relating to the UK Smart Metering Implementation Programme ( SMIP ) which it expects to recognise in revenue in H2 2019."

No doubt we will find out at some stage, if the 2 individual orders, are in any way similar/connected? Or if they are two totally different, unconnected orders.

Pure speculation on my part. But interesting speculation I feel, none the less.

I think you are correct in thinking that the INSPIRE2019 event had been planned for some time. And probably this was one of the events that CyanConnode had not initially planned to attend.

But the IntelliSmart/EESL/NIIF collaboration is a new initiative i believe and with the advances and dicisions that have been made during the last year, the " closed-door " event may have been a late addition to the programme. And with EESL, during the last 18/24 months finding GPRS initially a more acceptable mode of delivery solution for meters/smart meters, it is encouraging that an RF representative solution should be involved in the round-table discussions to " ...... identify a collaboration strategy for the fast-track roll-out of smart metering in India."

So we will have to wait and see what dicisions come out of these discussions.

Personally, I think the " ....... closed-door round-table event ...... " will involve the " stake-holders " involved with the Indian Smart Meter programme. Namely, Indian Government representatives, from various Indian Government departments. Meter manufacturers ( Indian manufacturers and global meter manufacturers.) Utilities, Solutions Providers ( Indian and global .) And any other interested or contributary companies.

It seems as though we are/they are approaching the business-end of the project/programme negotiations, when decisions are hopefully, going to be made. ( But no time-scale.)

" The new partnership ( EESL/IntelliSmart/NIIF ) has been created to fund , install and operate more than 250 million smart electricity meters across India, which could potentially increase utility revenues by INR 1,10,400 crore ( Approximately USD 15.4 billion.)

tonyj, as far as the reasoning for inviting CyanConnode is concerned, time will tell on that point.

But it may be partly to do with the recognition and contribution CyanConnode have made so far over the years, concerning the Indian Smart Meter Programme, both in public with smart meter projects and behind the scenes.

" When we receive equity funding, when we have a placing, that money is paid into CyanConnode Holdings but then it is " loaned " to the Group companies as needed, as CyanConnode Holdings supports the Group at this point. There are various other inter-company charges, which are quite normal in the trading of any group of companies and they are all related party transactions."

Your post from 10:18 today, is as I understand it. About fundraising being distributed to other subsidiaries within the Group.

I posted some information on November 5th, 2019, under the heading " Related Party Transactions " which you may or may not have seen.

Note 35 on page 85, of the 2018 Annual Report, gives details on the Related Party Transactions mentioned in the report that you posted. Also on page 72, note 18, gives details of the subsidiaries that can be/are involved in the Related Party Transactions. But as well as the subsidiaries mentioned, on pages 72/73, on page 85, there is a section headed " Other key management personnel " which mentions an ex-director of Connode AB who is also " ..... CFO, Board Director and share-holder of Tritech. Tritech sold the Connode Group to the Company ( Cyan ) in late 2016. Tritech have continued to provide book-keeping and company secretarial support for the Connode group of companies. In 2018, revenue of £42,000 and costs of £103,000 were recognised in relation to Tritech."

Good morning all.

It is good that CyanConnode updated the date of the Major Share-holders holdings as well as the percentages.

I understand that last year Canaccord informed the Company, in November 2018, by TR1 Notification, that their holding was at the time, 9.51%. But that was diluted to 7.64%, as CyanConnode were part-way through a placing. Canaccord were not required to give a new TR1 Notification, as they were still above 5%, at the time.

- Various tenders for a first phase of smart meter projects in Chennai, Tamil Nadu ( Thats a name from the past, ) have been floated.

- Various tenders for a Pan India smart meter project, are progressing for EESL. Submission date - 10th December, 2019. ( 5,000,000 smart meter potential.)

- A tender for a roll-out of AMI ( Advanced Metering Infrastructure ) is progressing for MPPKVVCL, for Jabalpur and Bhopal. As this project is only at the design and development stage, it will still be at the early stages of the tender cycle. Submission date - 29th October, 2019.

- At the moment there are 4 Expected Tenders shown:-
(1) Megdhalaya Power Distribution - 200,000 smart meters.
(2) Himachal Pradesh - 200,000 smart meters.
(3) Chhattisgarh - 440,000 smart meters.
(4) Daman & Diu - 60,000 smart meters.
