RE: RNS - Surely this is the news we have been waiting for15 Nov 2024 22:28
There's always got to be some element of speculation about these kind of investments - otherwise you could wait until it was completely derisked and jump in then, in which case your return would be minimal and you may as well have had it in a FTSE 100 company or a savings account. By all means steer clear if you don't believe in the investment case here, but if you think it will succeed in the end ( with any share) then the best time to invest is when the risk reward feels like it's in your favour.
I actually think the risk has reduced on GGP - it could be argued that the reward has fallen too with the diluton, but I do think that the potential now is even greater than it was a few years ago due to the position Greatland now find themselves in with ownership of the 'local' plant. Everyone's time scales are different but at the moment our base scenario ( I won't say worst case ) is make money from Telfer and then feed in Hav ore in 2027. But there is so much more - exploration upside both on our original tenements and now Telfer deeps - Australian funds investing, more mining funds buying due to the MCap & production criteria. There will always be what-ifs, but I've personally got everything crossed that this transaction that is taking place right now is the major turning point that Greatland investors have been craving. I'm not bothered about a quick doubling of the share price ( although I'd definitely take it! ) - I want to see this grow, grow, grow and be another Fortescue or Northern star. I think that's what SD wants and he appears to have this ship now pointed in the right direction. Apologies for the long post!!!
