"As you well know, your early purchases being 95%+ down."
The Motley Fool say this kind of thing - 'If you'd bought Β£10,000 worth of shares five years ago, how much would they be worth now?
But I'd be flabbergasted if that's how people operate - especially those that frequent share bulletin boards.
Shares are mainly bought and sold in tranches, and many profit take at various points. Although the majority of LTHs in here are highly likely to be down a great deal, there have been many, many opportunities to de-risk. Gains and losses are only paper until you realise your investment, and this journey has not completed yet.
The key to the whole project is actually selling the black mass (or a second more convoluted route of processing the black mass in house, which I suspect will be too slow to be feasible in the company's current state ) - if that box gets ticked, the business can operate. If it doesn't happen investors lose. If it does happen there is decent potential. TM1 have a lifeline with the CRML shares and if used wisely can have a clean slate but with most of the building blocks for a strong business in place. They need to get the sales over the line, that is the crux.
