Thanks all for this discussion. Nothing to add except that I heard that there were TWO mutations in Ohio, with one becoming the dominant contagion within 3 weeks.

That had me wondering if having one strain/mutation prevents you from getting a different strain at the same time. But that is just me.

I think we can all say "Thank Goodness 2020 was the year when Covid Herd Immunity Without ANY Vaccine" was destroyed as a viable working hypothesis.

As Inan says, the current Government has staked a good portion of future GDP in the development and manufacture of vaccines.

I had assumed that meant they were investing in manufacturing facilities which would allow "home grown" vaccines to have the highest quality controls, and the UK would own the value chain from concept through to consumption.

Now, I'd like to see a breakdown of their "investment strategy". Hope this is an area where they WON'T be giving to those who have no experience and no assets.

If you have not invested our full allowance by the end of the tax year you lose it, so it might be worth a bed & ISA to fully fund the £20k allowance. Likewise on 6 April, it might be worth doing the same with the coming year's allowance.

The problem is on both sides of the Atlantic is that the anti-maskers are far more likely to catch Covid 19. Getting the first shot doesn't guarantee immunity in the current set up of 2 doses.

Even with the MMR vaccine, immunity takes about 2 weeks to develop. So the anti-maskers (be they lofty Blue Tick accounts or otherwise) are already putting themselves in harms way.

VanVan, There will always be people who are anti-vaxxers; Scientology is a prime example.

Having met a couple of Qanon, who are prime fodder for being scammed, probably best to report them to the platform.

In one article I read, the SA strain is in the UK, but only in much small numbers than the UK mutation.

That is the current belief. You'll see in an earlier thread that one investor has received an email from the company saying they are looking to create the SA strain in order to test against it. Search for Inan or Inanco and it should come up.
