Ivan has already stated that greenfield sites are either in high risk geopolitical parts of the world or the licences are owned by junior miners trying to prove the resource with no cash....i expect all the big miners to increasingly take stakes in such companies and eventually take them over as the resource becomes confirmed, this is happening with SOLG, BCN (lithium)....I've starting taking small positions in junior miners based on the predicted lack of new copper mines coming on stream..

As an addition to sharprites post on thursday at 11.07, all our steel stockists have informed us to expect large price increases over the summer months, prices only valid for 24 hours....this will be a good summer for the miners, and hopefully a few years after that...all project budgets blown out the water!!!! But good for my pension pot!!!!

This is all a bit smelly, the last (final) fund raise at 45p was, we were told to take through to production, when in fact it allowed ganfeng to significantly increase their holding at a significant discount, and then the price appears to have been held down at the placing price, and suprise, a low ball bid appears....having read most of the posts, no-one is in favour of the offer, so if pi's M&G and other ii's reject it, i can't see it going through, also an article in last weeks sunday times had a piece on how much of the uk's infastructure, assets the chinese own, and now it maybe BCN....i hold 16k at an average of 21p, so will do all right, but at this stage, i'd want £1 minimum, but am prepared to wait it out till production

Joker, the only serious pullback i see here is an unfavourable result from the DOJ, but even then any pullback will be jumped on and shortlived and i'm not worried about the other investigations, but when india and brazil start manufacturing again and consume even more industrial metals, prices and profits will soar even higher than they are now....I'm hopeless at trading shares and so I'm in no rush to sell as I'm trying build a dividend income for the next 4 to 5 years

Just looking through the posts today and shaperite makes a good point on the slow burn effect back towards the old economy. Manyfacturing in the US and China and the UK are recovering quicker than expected, but Other emerging powerhouse countries Brazil and India are still crippled by the virus. I tried to order a brazilian WEG electric motor last week, normal delivery is 6 weeks, now 19 weeks, the manfacturing capacity of brazil and China is severely restricted and industrial metals will rise again when these 2 countries return to normal operation, in particular when india is free of the virus, as they had an increasing GDP that was latger than china before the pandemic struck. As china recovered first, they stockpiled industrial metals, while at the same time in the UK, we were stockpiling toilet rolls.....i am holding for £4.50 here and take the dividends when they come!!!

I wouldn't be suprised if the special divi equates to 8 cents per share, to take it back to the last divi of 20 cents p/s. This gives them the option of not paying the special should the DOJ investigation come home to roost. With commodity prices now and projected, they could afford a special divi, increase standard divi, pay down debt and restart share buybacks!!!! For me a modest special divi and get the debt under $10 billion asap, before increasing the standard dividend back to 20 cents per share...

it's disappointing we're down today, but these copper highs will significantly increase the next set of financials figures in 3 months time, and hopefully a special dividend/ debt reduction and future dividend increase....that's when the SP will catch up!!!

unfortunately, the market is sceptical that the previously unwanted GPA sour crude can be extracted and processed for a commercial profit. Despite Tom's boasts that there are no more technical hurdles to achieve this, PMG will not realise it's true market value until the GPA is operational as well as other PMG held oil/gas fields get moving. Can't remember the last time they had a drill bit turning in the ground...huge potential here, very low risk, potential huge rewards

Make no mistake, Richard Griffiths was invested in SNG, JOG, ELA prior to them all multibagging, follow the money, glad he's invested here...

Interesting article in the FT about the amount of copper required for EV's and wind turbines, etc to meet the climate change agreement....this should be the start of the next commodity super cycle, hope so....

This is what i don't understand with PMG, they keep applying and get awarded new licenses with no ambition of drilling them, in the last 2 years, they have relinquished, the sandra, lowlander, polecat/marten and farne extension prospects with informing shareholders, but when they are awarded them/increase their stake, the RNS makes it look as they're gonna be all over it....and then nothing. It would be nice to get excited about an RNS stating a drilling program/JV on any license...Still with Tom and the FD on large losses from money invested....it would appear all bets are on the GPA development...whinge over!!!

Shame we couldn't stay above £3 today, but many short term traders had £3 as their exit price....nothing wrong with that....it'll be £3+ again next week...also now up to 13th on the FT100...the rapid copper price rise must be due to someone (China) stockpiling, with 70%, of the world on lockdown/reduced capacity, there should be another surge when the world is vaccinated....people keep saying the demand it is for EV's but number of EV's on the road is still minimal...plenty of growth to come yet!!!!

I think people are missing the point with the reinstated modest dividend...it will eventually grow over time when debt is reduced, and the ongoing investigations are closed. I have a small Rio Tinto holding purchased about 2016 at £19.57 per share. The dividend then was very modest, but now it is considerably larger, mostly due to the rapid rise in iron ore (95% gain over a year).Glen has exposure to all the key commodities for the EV revolution, dividends similar to RIO will come, hopefully it's not too far away, but still always too far for the impatient

I would hope for a few raised target prices from the brokers in the next week or so after the news today....anything sub £3.30 is not a true reflection of what is happening here!!!!

Nice dividend to start....with the possibility of a top up divi in august if things continue to progress as we are. Net debt target is <$13b in 12 months, 2021 dividend cost is $1.6b, so i would expect the annual dividend to significantly increase after the next 12 months.....the sale of the mopani mine will add $1.5b to the balance sheet....we just need the DOJ investigation to be resolved.....i've read 12 to 18 months timeframe with a settlement cost of approx $1b.....get this sorted, then the sp can reach its full potential
