I have sold most of my modest holding today at a 3k+ loss. Fortunately i top sliced 4k at just over 1p when the WN discovery was first announced, and invested elsewhere, but today still stings. I still have a few in my halifax account, but todays flowery RNS did it for me. RBD has been a shambles from the botched Wytch farm drill, parta still to be resolved, the attempted takeover of deltic and now this. Perhaps with a bit better luck, things may have gone better, but any good news that may be forthcoming in the near future, the rises are never greater than the falls for RBD. The speed at which this take over has progressed is so painfully slow, by the time the take over is complete, it'll be 2023 and BCN will be seeing first product coming out the ground.....ni that will be rubbing lithium in the wounds

Maybe the OGA should prioritide developing existing discoveries over exploration. Oil be with us for decades. The uk and other similar size european countries could wean itself off oil over the next 10 years due to the close proximity of travel infrastructure and cities....but third world countries in africa ,asia former russian states where oil is cheap, ev's won't survive. Install an ev charging point in asia, africa and people will have fridges, tv's, etc connected in no time. In the us and australia, the key point here is range, driving a 1000 miles is no problem to them. Back in my youth, i travelled round australia, one journey, tennent creek to townsville - 23 hours by bus!!!

Just reading through the pdf H1 financial report and on page 3 H1 2021 Financial scorecard, there is a statement of having "brought debt to the lower end of the range and depending on market conditions, they will now prioritise higher levels of investor cash flowpayouts going forward".....already looking forward to next divi declarations!!!!

I also read from the highlights of the report on thursday (but can't find it now), that Glencore would look to expand and extend the life of existing mines rather than purchasing new mines....as Ivan stated earlier this year, the risks are becoming far greater in sourcing new commercially viable mines in less stable areas of the world....this will only push prices higher over the next decade....the only advantage of the current undervalued share price is that the buybacks are purchased cheaper and before long, other investors will see the value....build it, and they will come!!!!

well i'm stunned at the lack of movement on the share price, can't seem to break and hold above £3.30 (been trying for 6 months now)
these sky high commodity price are here probably for another 5 years minimum, so net debt could be eliminated in 12/24 months time, and dividends could be significantly increased.

I've held rio tinto shares since 2016 and they've always paid a modest divi, but the last payment was good, and this next one is huge. The advantage they have over glencore is less debt, but i believe Glencore have far better growth prospects and future dividends going forward, as the coal market will be strong for the next 5 to 10 years before the green transition takes place, and copper, cobolt and nickel will become the power commodities to have. Aswell as the 10% stake recently taken in a junior miner, glencore also have large stakes in HZM and Bluejay mining. They just need to reduce the debt and balance it with rewarding dividends.....but please...no more share buyback schemes....looking forward to thursday!!!!

One thing that struck me on hearing that Dana were pulling out, Tom was very quick to agree (in principle), to becoming the operator, something he is still reluctant to confirm on the perth field!!!

It's still showing on the OGA pathfinder/current projects, listed as KNOC as the operator...but i don't know if I'm on the correct webpage (new OGA is awful to navigate from a phone). I would expect any information regarding platypus will get listed here before a PMG RNS, that said, with the current and futures gas prices, i'd be very suprised if PMG/CAL, etc relinquished the licence now...

300k a week for somone who can't use their left foot!!! The problem is with the agents feeding the players rubbish and engineering a move or a new deal to get their cut. Clubs should pay equal wages throughout the squsd and then the agents should only negoiate endorsement deals for the better players if they're worth it. Remove all these large sums of money from the game and the only people left will be the real fans and those that at grass roots that are involved in football because they love it for the thrill of the game, and not the money.

Saka wasn't having a good game before the pens, so i found it odd he was taking one. Micheal owen was 17 (i think) when he scored the pen against argentina in france 98, and many great players hsve missed them, Kane (denmark), maradona, zico, platini, socrates, baggio, lineker, etc, it's a lottery of nerves and how good is the goalkeeper your up against

Tom has suggested for a few years there was a larger piece of the dutch gas market to be had, and now he has his delivered. We all know this is a slow burner and it has tested my paitence, but we are in a far better position today, than when compared to 4 or 5 years ago. Gradual steps foward, each day is nearer the GPA RNS, with a few decent financial and Platypus RNS's along the way...

Only one ii on board at the moment with an 8% holding. Fidelity sold out below 3% a few years back, approx 2017. CNOOC tried an unofficial takeover bid at £1.40 about 2 years ago, but with Tom as the main shareholder, money in the bank, and the dutch gas paying the bills, there is NO whiff of desperation for a deal here, thus NOT having to accept the first deal on the table for GPA or otherwise, hence the long time period with no news....

With all the G7 talk of a greener future.....copper has tanked and coal and oil is on a charge....nickel is also pushing higher from recent lows.....stainless steel suppliers have increased their prices from 1st june and have just advised another increase of between 7 and 9% from the 1st july, with further price increases to come....copper prices will come back with a bang....china is manipulating the market price for its own gain...

I see that metal prices have dropped as china announces that it will sell its copper, zinc and aluminium reserves on the open market until the end of the year, in an attempt to curb rising prices. You would have thought they would have already done this or drip feed it back onto the market slowly without announcing first to the markets....or just stop buying the metals to start with. The Belt and Road initative program run by china has a scheduled completion date of 2049, and so as the global manufacturing and construction markets kicks off, sending prices higher, china will be forced to pay a higher cost of materials to complete this huge project - just by talking about selling their metal reserves, it has already lowered the asking price....

don't forget coal, up 20% in the last 2 weeks!!!

Tom did state that he hopes to settle on the preferred route for the GPA at some point this year, so maybe a few months or more yet. Clearly we have more than 1 x option available to us, Tom is taking his time to get the best deal for PMG.
With more of the big players going down the offshore wind farm route and pressure from the zero carbon groups to reduce exploration for fossil fuels, the existing discoveries in the north sea may move up the priority list ahead of exploration, so the GPA area should become even more desirable to interested parties.

I would expect the share price to treadwater for a month or two, and then push on based the half year report issued at end of july....with the current commodity prices still inflated, particularly coal which is still rising, the finnancials should be very positive with net debt to be <£13b at some point this year. With Brazil/Latin America, India and now Japan struggling to contain the virus, copper prices may weaken until these industrial nations get fully vaccinated and then ramp up their manufacturing. It's only about of the half of the principle industrial nations reaching anywhere near their manufacturing capacity, U.S, china, UK, EU and possibly South Korea driving the copper demand....Just my opinion
