No problem billy, as i posted earlier, i had to double take when i saw it....quite a gear change from a few days ago....the £6.80 looks ambitous when compared to sub £5 of most other brokers...lets see if other brokers follow up with rasied targets in the next few weeks

Billy, the latest broker news is now not showing on the glen page, so i copied it across from the fres page

One of my early investments was rio with 270 shares at £19.50 purchased on the day before the brexit vote, i did top slice a few at £6....but with glen, rio, mng and few others, looking like a year for divi's
It'll be interesting to see if other brokers raise their target price on Glen..£6.80 (near £90 billion mcap) is a big leap...happy to take the divis till we get there!!!!

All looking good here, dividend maintained, 500 million share buyback glad I bought 3000 more yesterday at £1.73

I took a small position here last week at 93p based on planes in the sky and the development of the SMR's. I work in heavy industry engineering/ manufacturing with a company that has had projects with RR and GE. I have seen instances where contracts are fast-tracked, which translates to throwing money at every problem, equipment not inspected and tested properly....and then costs spiral to correct it at site....fast tracking/cutting corners doesn't work at this level of engineering.

Is it just me but when I see Putin sat at the end of a very long table in a marble pillared room with 2 x idiots at the other end of the table dressed in green military uniform, I think I'm watching an 80's bond movie!!!!
When abramovich would rather have a fire sale of the his houses and football club (before sanction hit him), than criticise the "special military Operation", this shows the fear of everyone in Russia has of Putin. One word against the current regime, and you'll have a tube of novichok smeared over your front door handle!!!
Hopefully the sanctions will continue to bite hard, giving enough concern to everyday russian folk, to start a people revolution. It seems the only prospect of the war ending with the best outcome for everyone.
The peoples revolution brought down the ceauceacu regime in Romania, Marcos in the philppines and cleared out the despots from north africa...it's the only hope!!

I am hoping for a good rise in the S.P when the DPJ, SFO investigations are cleared....the Petrofac S.P had a big (50%) rise when they admitted guilt on price fixing. Here's hoping!!!

At least the issue of the UK power needs is partly being addressed with the SMR units being developed by Rolls Royce. I bought a few RR last week & may buy a few more if it drops below £1.
They have fair chunk of debt, but planes in the sky and the SMR units should give them decent long term growth prospects.
Also, i have accumulated a few shares in wind energy companies, ORSTED and VESTAS over the last six months, and before the first day of the Russian invasion, i was on a 15% loss (even after averaging down), but now on a nice profit.....with no news from either company....perhaps the smart money is already sensing that the supply of Russian oil and gas may no longer be sustainable....and it's time to invest in something to meet our future energy needs.

Coal up 15% to an all time high.....italy and germany looking at reopening shuttered coal mines to avoid power supply worries.
When the conflict is resolved, hopefully soon and peacfully, the european reliance on russian oil, gas and other minerals/commodities must be reduced. We have all slept walked into dependancy on russian exports, and now are scrambling to find other sources of fuel etc.
Oil may stay high for a good few years yet, but will only make the decision to by an EV easier when the time comes.....thus speeding up the take up of EV's... and raising the demand/prices of copper, nickle etc, sooner than previously expected.....good times ahead for Glencore...

I think the possible near resolution of the investigations is what the market liked the most.
Interestingly, back in september when Petrofac admitted guilt and accepted a large fine over corruption /price fixing, their share price rose by 50%, I'd accept a 5 to 10% rise on resolution of this with Glen.
the divi could have been nearer 40 cents a share if the $1.5b fund for the investigations wasn't required.
Also, if the net debt is maintained below a cap of $10b, they have mentioned, special divi and buyback.

Excellent set of results 0.26c divi, + $550 million buybacks, debt is reduced to $6b.
$1.5b set aside for the expected fines for the ongoing investigstions.
If commodities continue to trade at these levels the, next year should see lower debt and increased divis again.

Richard griffths is a serious investor and was a significant share holder in SNG prior to its big rise and several other stocks prior to big rises. Any increase in his holding here is a big plus. I have a small stake here but am well under water, but am prepared to wait it out.

Copper up nearly 4% today, with a very sharp climb in the last few hours.....china renewing infastructure spending and LME feeling squeeze on copper supply....hopefully a good day tomorrow!!

DTN, I would say the numbers are solid enough given the pandemic....I work for a manufacturing company, that supplies equipment to heavy industry including mining, and project delivery schedules are getting pushed back due to supply shortages of labour and components. some small stock items last year are now 3 months+ on delivery, pumps and motors 14 weeks+. If a machine breaks down, and the spares aren't in stock...everything stops...production numbers drop...
The market response to the production numbers is better than it was for FRES, and they just missed the silver guidance but was up on the gold guidance, and dropped 15%.
The numbers that matter will be out in 2 weeks!!!!

Seldom do production reports exceed guidance, Gary Nalge has stated the financials are expected to exceed full year guidance due to the performance of the trading division...only 2 weeks till we find out.....

Whilst not a game changer of an aquistion, but still a step forward, I had initally thought that Tom was aquiring technical expertise (Toms words) via a Technical director/engineer with a view to planning applications and so forth the plot at piteadre, but I read that the company has no staff.....is this correct? and does anyone know if the current owner/director is joining PMG?
Ideally, we will have a renewables director appointed and let Tom get on with GPA....
Hopefully this will be the springboard for Piteadre to move forward.....

On issue of rising inflation, most households have reduced debt/savings due to the covid period where no-one could spend any money, but 2022 extravagant holidays/purchases may be trimmed by rising inflation costs.....or the whole nation will just spend wildly and max out on the credit as before the pandemic!!!!
The biggest seller during the pandemic was hot-tubs that everyone bought during furlough....and now can't afford to run them with higher energy costs....
I would expect inflation to go higher until the energy price rises and levels off.....whenever that is....fortunately, i fixed my energy for 2 years last april by paying an extra £1 a month, i fixed it for an extra year with british gas!!!! Phew
