Agreed Bilbo but hope is mostly what we have left with this particular investment. Hope that the directors who bought shares recently know more than we do. Hope that despite the house from across the Atlantic, the H2 story will finally gain some traction and that climate Armageddon can be avoided at the last minute. It's hardly worth selling now anyway.

Gmed-2 at this rate it won't be long before we own most of the company :-)

The issue seems to revolve around how culpable the company is found to be, rather than the individuals involved. It seems that staff in China have been what could be euphemistically described as enterprising on their own account. Until the relative culpability is resolved, we won't know if this is another GSK situation. From what I have read, I suspect not.

So AZN clearly didn't learn any lessons from GSK's woes in China a few years ago. You have to ask why not.

With you there Graffiti. Vaccine sales are by their nature cyclical, depending to a large extent on the current state of pandemics, and we shouldn't be surprised by a few slow quarters. The medicines side on the other hand is showing positive trends and should continue to do so, given the impressive pipeline. The market seems to have taken a dislike to GSK recently, with a herd instinct driving sentiment.

It's a pity that the share price had to reach the bargain basement before this happened but we should be grateful for small mercies I suppose. The directors must be confident that significant orders will result from the budget proposals. Hopefully we will see some evidence of this in the coming months.

More depressing news from China. I have always had reservations about the company's operations in China. GSK cane a cropper there a few years ago and I hope the same doesn't happen to AZN. It's a high risk country for foreign firms

As a very longterm investor in the stock, I would be very happy to be the last one standing. As for the share price, it was over £40 before the disastrous tenure of the previous CEO so it still has some way to go.

Adeg1 I did read recently that IMB may indeed end up buying out all their shareholders eventually, which is not altogether bad news I suppose.

Ian has been plugging ITM for some time now. Like the rest of us, he still entertains hopes of future glory while accepting that it might not happen in our lifetime......

Don't hold your breath. This share has had more disappointments than any I have followed over the years. There may be an upturn eventually but you need the patience of Job for this one.

Not much of a surprise there. Of course the company needs more orders and until those materialise it will remain a jam-tomorrow stock. I've said before, you need the patience of Job in this business.

I am not surprised at the market's reaction, given the downbeat forecast for revenues over the next couple of years. I was certainly expecting something better. There has to be some indication of future profitability if the share price is to move ahead and so far we have no firm expectation of that. 2 decades of lossmaking operation have only been alleviated by the fortuitous share price spike which allowed a vital cash call to keep the company going.

On the face of it, the numbers do look disappointing for next year, though no doubt others with more knowledge of the business may be able to clarify some of this. The projected loss is not much of an improvement from the current year,though I accept that investment in R&D and production is responsible for most of it. I still wish the company could get beyond the jam tomorrow phase and outline a clear path to profitability. Let's see what the market makes of it but I remain sceptical.

I don't expect much from tomorrow's results but it would be nice to be surprised.
