A very positive update all round, signalling further progress for the company towards eventual profitability. We have been waiting a long time for this.

I'm not too concerned about the unchanged loss forecast. The cash situation is much more significant and could be a game-changer for the company. t will be interesting to see how the market reacts to this.

Twonko it's true that GSK has had some unfortunate episodes in the past, in China and elsewhere, but a company of this size is always going to have it's good and bad days. Andrew Whitty's reign amounted to wasted years, which Emma Walmsley has taken time to rectify. I think we should give her the benefit of the doubt.

I was mystified by the market's preoccupation with the vaccines business last time round. Vaccines are by nature a cyclical business, highly dependent on the changing policies of individual governments and not the most reliable income stream. The white pill business has been neglected by the analysts of late but holds plenty of promise, given the company 's investment in it and the subsequent litany of successful clinical trials. Like many, I was not convinced that Emma Walmsley was the right person to lead the company, given her lack of experience of the drug sector, but she has focused the business very effectively in key areas and GSK is now feeling the benefit. I remain optimistic about the pipeline and look forward to some analysts' upgrades.

Goldman Sachs have never liked ITM. Only time will tell whether they are right or not.

SpicyTuna the position the company now finds itself in is a relatively comfortable one financially, as a result of the large rights issue from a few years ago when the SP was sky high. The issue, as Bilbo and I have repeatedly pointed out, is the degree and speed of cash burn of those reserves. The point I was trying to make is that until we know how long the cash burn will continue, it will be impossible to value the company properly. The market understands this and will not give ITM the benefit of the doubt until there's evidence that 20 years of loss making is coming to and end. Orders and revenues are all very well but cash is king.

The problem is that there is still no clear path to profitability and until there is, the market will sidestep this share. If at any point we are given an indication of the company breaking even on its operations then the SP will undoubtedly move forward.

I am with you on the issue of cash burn Bilbo. More clarity on that would be helpful. Even a very conservative estimate of a date for break-even would benefit the share price. Until we get that it's hard to value the company.

My only hope is that the upcoming results are less disappointing than the last lot. As a longterm holder suffering heavy losses that's the limit of my ambitions.

I don't think the company really wanted to sell Costa but the offer seemed too good to miss. On reflection it looks different because of what happened during the pandemic, an entirely unforseeable event. So we had the cash binge followed closely by the cash call, not something that any company would welcome. Looking ahead, the German market seems to be our best bet for growth.

I never paid more than £25 so am happy to be above water. The rate at which the shares are being bought in gives me some optimism that it's worth a hold.
