It's definitely a sign. We are in a trough, and like the weather, nothing we can do except ride it out. Soon anti-panic will set in (FOMO) and we will all feel happier for it. I think the next RNS will be another bit of solid news - a higher proportion of HC's, and maybe a faster flow - but after that it will be fireworks - and possibly only a few days between - a bit like a river bursting over a barrage, within minutes the water levels are equal on both sides and the barrage is no longer visible. When she blows, she'll blow fast.

There is nothing lacklustre about "going to plan" - that's good news. DW could invite the Queen to cut a ribbon or two if you want a bit of pageantry but I don't think it would affect the sp. What some people want is news that no-one but themselves expect - but they obviously need new batteries in their crystal balls, 'coz life is not normally that obliging. They are setting themselves up for a fall, but want to blame someone or something else for their grazed knees..

Larsson, it's a common problem for the "get rich quick" traders - they jump in only noting that we have a potential 50 bagger, but paying no attention to the fact that it will be a long wait. Poor research costs a lot - but the MMs love those types of PI - they have "wealth transfer" written all over them.

Cjml, although the various HC vapours condense at different temperatures they will "re-mix" into a cocktail by the time they get to the surface. We will get a premium because we have the lighter more desirable oil which will mix with, and thin-out the thicker, sludgy stuff making it easier to keep the flow moving in TAPs - especially through the winter. A1 grade !

The spread relates to the instantaneous (theoretical) loss you suffer when buying a share - the difference between the Ask and Bid price. Some might regard this as hogwash as often the Ask and Bid price is rounded up or down from actual transactions being made at that time so it's always worth looking at the actual trades to verify accuracy. It could even be defined as the potential "sales commission" that the MM's are making from PI's

I hope we've touched bottom and get back to a more realistic sp by the next RNS. I'd rather see a 2bag from 3p than a 4bag from 1.8 - more likely to be sustained liquidity and much less retrace after a spike.

Frank, when you think about it, every bought share has to be sold first - so over a reasonable period they even out. However MMs sometimes accumulate then in a short term stockpile (say accumulate in the morning of a fall, then sell back in the afternoon on a rise. They don't tie up too much cash in stockpiling from what I've read, so that means the ratio is rarely much removed fro 45:55 - so beware of late trades which can skew the buy sell ratio - which is an estimate at best.

HL has changed its login and dealing passwords system - would be a pain to get caught up in that if you want to set up a quick deal. I can imagine most day traders use other platforms.

FD, carbon has 4 electrons so hydrocarbons start at CH4.

N2 is not inert as it reacts with water and other gasses given the right conditions (like heat). I read somewhere that it even reacts with diesel fuel to produce something nasty. You're confusing it with Argon or Zenon or Neon to name a few.
