Shinfalls, as the pressure decreased over time I'd think that the ratio of "heavy components in the gas" would decrease - same principle as heavy sediment falls to the bottom of the jar, or to put it another way the lightweight stuff rises faster than the heavy stuff. One point you could clarify, by "heavy components" are you referring to long chain hydrocarbons, or non-organic material?

Not used Pascals, but Pa's, Bar's Atm's or psi's are all about how hard you have to blow through a pipe to raise 2 miles of fluid from the bottom to a tank at the top. I believe it is only static while the lid is firmly screwed on, but although pressure will diminish when the lid comes off, it should have plenty of "whoosh!" to send the water, gas and oil at a pace that will prove we have a viable mechanism for drawing HC's out of the ground. The unit of measurement is academic - as long as we have enough puff to make it ecconomic, I'll leave the applied maths to the boffins.

Desmond, DW says they will flow 4000 barrels of FF in 10-14 days - simple maths, worst case, 4000/14 - 285 bbl/day. Next thing to think about, our volatile oil is much thinner (less viscous) than the fracc fluid - so it stands to reason that it will flow faster. Additionally, it is lighter than the FF, which together with the 9,000psi pressure we have at Bottom Hole means that it really should blow those doors off.

To be honest, I never spotted that it stated "June", I just read " we retrieved... on the 25th" my brain must have been in "adjust to common sense" mode. Delgado, how long will it take for oil to fall to $65? The trend seems to be up at present, so if it takes a couple of years to change to a downturn, we may be out of this anyway. Fortunately with a break-even of $40 or so, we will still be quids-in. I'm not so sure that the Saudis will let it fall this side of an Aramco sell-off.

Being below sea level, not sure whether Ice2v will get its top-up water or brine through seepage or if we have to pump it out of the river - but Alaska has plenty of it. Glad if my over simplified illustration helps to visualize what happens down there.
