Re $ I think the background noise about a rate rise is getting louder. The Koreans are talking to each other again and there is growth in world economy. Don't take this as my saying everything hunky- dory with the world and gold is dead, it's just this share is, in my experience, bloody reactive to small temporary occurrences. Which is of course why we love it so!

Eish, if you look at it simplistically, it goes up and down over a short term following PM's. I think the skill with this one is deciding what you want as a buy/sell price and then micromanaging the final hour or so before that's reached. I think I made a God-like prediction of 245 a couple of months ago and it then peaked at 247. The only problem was I got spooked at a drop from 240 to 237 and sold! So to sum up, you know what it is going to do roughly (which is a million times better than most shares), it's just having the nuts to leave it alone!

Hi . I'd go with no. I don't think the very steady, very nice rise has enough momentum to add 3.5% in the day. I think it'll break 900 on Tuesday next week, allowing for a small retrace tomorrow/Monday. I think though we're soon be talking about when it breaks 1000.

In recent times it's not recovered from this kind of a setback and continued rising (if that makes sense) Good news for the dollar could send it tanking 225ish

Hi Nogs. My Copper miners are going great guns. VED and GLEN are now comfortably in profit. Of course they'd have been even more comfortably in profit if I hadn't bought them in November just before a 10% drop. But hey ho. Going forward I'm keeping tabs on HOC, TLW and DRX. All of them offer good "predictable" volatility but without the huge drops. Everyday is a school day. GLA

Sell (If I had any) I think the dollar is going to start strengthening from here and we'll see a retracing of PM's. Note the Koreans are also talking to each other again.

Morning and HNY to all Hockers I agree the fundamentals of your post but when I look at the graphs for DX, Gold, Silver I just can't help but think there has to be slight reversal just round the corner. Probably starting with the dollar.

Morning Hockers. Wow, the SP here has stood up to some turbulence in the last week. My GLEN and VED shares are more or less back to where they need to be so I'm figuring out when to sell (which I actually find harder than when to buy) It would help if HOC would show a little weakness!
