All the fundamentals have gone in the right direction since then (PM's up $ down) So.......we need sentiment (I know that's the case all the time but I'd rather be only lacking that and have the hard data on my side) Could we be set up for another snowball effect as per early Dec onwards?

Have opened higher. Let's hope they start a ripple. I'm suffering with PFC too so could do with oil stepping up on the back of some good stock market rises. I don't think we're too far away from the kind of fundamentals that saw us rocket. It's just the roller coaster of commodities GLA

SSEC was down 2 days in a row. We need both SSEC and HG up for the share to move. That and Pluto to align correctly with Uranus ;-)

I'm relatively new to dealing based on commodity prices but am I correct in thinking that every day prices are sensationally described as about to go through the roof or tank? A couple of weeks ago Copper was set to rocket on demand from China and lowered inventories. Yesterday it seemed everyone was overflowing with the stuff on the basis of one bit of news. low and behold it's now up over 1% on the basis of no news. Similarpattern with oil.

Had a quick look through the posts on the RNS, good points raised by all. I'd suggest that while Sotolo is absolutely correct in that cost rises are definatly giving us this drop while we'd expect a higher SP due to the elevated levels of PM's this will eventually give way again to the up/down pattern of following PM's. As such I think this represents a buying opportunity albeit the base may be a bit lower. Just my observations, certainly no a criticism of anything recently posted. I'd welcome thoughts. GLA

Oh I agree. The fundamentals remain that stocks of copper are lowering and demand is increasing. Alongside this the Dollar is in long term decline etc etc I know I shouldn't get too excited about about recent events which seem due to a dollar upturn. But given my system seems to have worked for the last couple of months I hate to see it trip up for no reason! Perhaps I'm not drinking enough these days GLA

I'm now focusing on stocks where theres some rational, historically proven evidence for why they go up and down. HOC is an obvious example with it's price being a product of gold, silver and $ strength. I could be wrong but with eg retailers I can't see any external measurable influence that you can follow to predict the price beyond what the company lets you have. Hope that makes sense. GL and don't beat yourself up over the missed trading ops!

Morning all I don't think the RNS delivered any unexpected good news and given the Dollar is staging it's mini fightback there wasn't really enough there to make the share an enticing prospect. Noggers, I'n in VED (should have sold Monday) and PFS (should have bought today) at the mo. GLA
