We've got them all popping out the woodwork today. Probably because the Box Office is looking good and so re CINE reports and coinciding with our reopeniings.

Not debt free but a large part of that debt has been used to fund the expansion of the company, refurbishments and the opening of new cinemas and that is why CINE has the Regal cinema chain in the US and also the Cinema City and Yes Planet brands in Europe as well as the UK side of the business. Likewise with virtually all other businesses additional debt has been taken on to navigate it through the pandemic.

Most companies have debt, particularly expanding companies and if you look at the likes of TUI, the holiday company then it has debts of about 7.2 Billion Euros. If you actually look at BP then it has net debts of $38.9 Billion. Doesn't stop people investing in them.

CINE are now about 97% open right now and good money is clearly being taken again and will continue to do so. (with vaccine backed reopening). TUI imho might be lucky if this year it salvages its key summer season. Strangely @TUI that hasn't stopped the share price remaining near recent highs in the 430's. Nor has $38.9 Billion debt at BP prevented its share price rising.

The key thing with debt is the ability to service it and to make profits.

That one builds on much stronger than expected openings of Godzilla versus Kong, Mortal Kombat and Demon Slayer as a double hit and Peter Rabbit 2. Now a Quiet Place 2 is aceing it on the Memorial Day weekend and it has the double hit of Disney's Cruella. dyor.

Then you also have to appreciate that on the 24th June / 25th June Fast and Furious 9 hits UK and US cinemas and Marvels Black Widow releases a couple of weeks later on the 9th July. Both will be significant high grossing films (blockbuster category).

The $. £, Euros through the till after 8 months closure here is what imho you should be focussing on.

We didn't just only open though in Israel at the end of the week. We opened in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Slovakia as well and we open in Bulgaria on the 3rd June. In those 5 countries people haven't seen a movie in 8 months. I think people call it pent up demand.

It's 14 months since cinemas closed in Israel. Great vaccine rollout seems to have been matched with a reopening with minimal social distancing.

Reopened to Tenet, Unhinged, WonderWoman1984 and Bill and Ted.

Fair chance this one is one of our cinemas given we have both a Cinema City and Yes Planet cinema in Rishon Lezion. (It looks like Yes Planet).

Own opinion fwiw: Increase in infections was expected after reopening indoor pubs and entertainment. IV also meant to be multiplying things. Not seeing that today. Infection rate delcine. Death rate still in single figures and hospitalisations still low and today with 78% 2nd vaccination rate of the key risk groups, Cohorts 1-9. All of these risk groups will be vaccinated prior to June 21, taking 99% risk out the system. Slight revisions maybe on some easings but at this time June 21 will happen. Nota Bene. *It is the Memorial Day weekend in America.
*505 Regal multiplexes reopened for our shares of the spoils.
*It is the BH weekend in the UK and Half term. (Family tickets)
* 82 of our multiplexes open in Europe and Israel this weekend also with a further 18 opening in Hungary on 3rd June making 100 in total. Been shut for 8 months (14 months in Israel).
* Cruella, A Quiet Place 2, The Conjuring all just released as new films.
* Abundance of others.
* Pleas, please, please don't also forget that Peter Rabbit 2 is on only its second weekend and is still pulling in very strong audiences. Own research shows this as being another very strong weekend and carrying forward into the full of next week.

It takes more than 1 swallow to make a summer but all the pointers thus far are excellent and it's an absolutely perfect restart. Mooky imho will be an extremely happy bunny by next weekend.

That's superb news on QP11 and it's one that I'm booked to see also. Not open everywhere yet either.

The last time CINE was faced with a quick 1-2 of two films at the same time was when Mortal Kombat released in America and then completely out the blue came Demon Slayer. Back then we only had 76 cinemas open!!

As of today and going into this weekends Memorial Day weekend and BH weekend and half term for this "quick 1-2" we now have an awesome 505 cinemas open in the US. We also have virtually all UK cinemas open (Except sadly for lsesb's home city) and we also have 82 Europe and RoW cinemas reopened for this weekend that have not seen a film in 8 months or more.

Don't expect RNS's off Mooky after every weekend. Just keep tabs on things for yourself.
A Quiet Place P2 and Cruella will take good money, as will the Conjuring as 3 new films and we will now take our fair share of the spoils. 76 cinemas to over 700 is a big difference.

But don't forget Peter Rabbit 2 is only on its 2nd weekend.

Also keep tabs on F9 as it is only on its second weekend in China and 7 other countries. If it adds further then that I think it may be of significance for James Bond and Maverick's Top Gun release dates.

Very happy with the end of day share price

Took the day off today to go and put in my first CINE visit of the BH weekend.

Earliest of the afternoon showings of Godzilla versus Kong. (I thought we'd better see it before it gets replaced with another). One of the smaller cinemas at the venue. The thought did occur that we actually might have been the only ones given the timing but was pleasantly surprised to find 24 others, all adult. I even discounted the mother and two children who were there to see Peter rabbit and realised they were in the worng cinema.

The thing though that really stood out for me, and I'd be interested in other experiences, was that approximately 75% to 80% of the individuals in there had popcorn or other concession items. I actually think that the ability to take your face mask off when eating or drinking is encouraging people to purchase.

As we came out there was a steady flow of revolving doors with people going in for one of the next movies and there were groups congregated outside. I only stopped a couple of minutes but in that time there were several groups of 5 that went in together which I presumed were students.

Added my pennies to start of the BH weekend and will be adding more over the coming weekend.

I have just sat and watched it on a dvd this morning as a taster for the weekend only to find some cinemas are doing a double bill of QP and QP2. Ah well. £2.50 also on Amazon for the first instalment. Although horror is not my favoured gendre I have to say it's a very good film. The way it ended leaves you gripped for the next instalment.

Best just to sit tight on your CINE stock for at some point this will translate across the Atlantic and the publicity might just cause an influx of its own on here.

Ardent followers on here know that it in the UK it is the Bank Holiday weekend coupled with half term so good for enhanced family attendances. Literally take your pick from a load of new releases Disney's Cruella, The Conjuring, A Quiet Place 2 to complement the 2nd weekend for Peter Rabbit 2.

Rest of the World - 82 cinemas opening and some have been closed and not seen customers for 8 months. Some in Israel for 14 months so much so they open to tenet, Unhinged and Bill and Ted to start off

But don't also forget the US where this weekend it is an extended weekend with Memorial Day on the Monday. There we have 502 Regal cinemas multiplexes open and another 3 being added this weekend so 505 in total. Disney's Cruella being pitted against A Quiet Place 2. I'll actually give Itrader his dues for you can watch it on Disney Plus but it will cost you an additional $30 to watch. He did mention as much.
