It's a very popular family film Peter Rabbit 2 and if the author or indeed the poster had wanted to truly gauge representative audiences on what is essentially a childrens film then they should have attended at the weekend and tried some of the matinee performances. Saturday and Sundays are the non-school days and the parents normally attend with the children.

As it easier to quickly navigate than on the CINE website I am tracking two local cinemas on Peter Rabbit 2 and on their booking systems both are nearly full on all showings on both days.

If those indications are representative across the country then it should do very well. It's easy to check yourself on your local ones at the weekend.

Fast and Furious 9 has been brought forward in the UK to 24th June, so just over a months time. UK release on the 24th June and US release on the 25th June.

Great news for it now gives it a clear run and without crossing with Black Widow which should be another high grossing film, which is released on the 9th July. Both had previously been set to release on the same day.

That might prove to be timely decision if as suggested in previous posts the PM unlocks the next stage of the Road Map on the 21 June and lifts and remaining restrictions including social distancing.

Last week around this time we all watched Boris Johnson's briefing and him expressing his concerns about the Indian variant and that knocked markets. I thought that the government rhetoric on the Indian variant was softening as the week progressed with indications that the vaccines do protect against it.

Today I think we might have got the first indication that that surge testing, track trace and isolate, the wider and more rapid rollout of vaccines to younger cohorts and to all in hotspots and the bringing forward 2nd vaccines now to 8 instead of 12 weeks, might be working to stabilise things and put everything back on track.

Although the infection rate had been increasing through the week, the death and hospitalisation stats had not been showing any corresponding rises. Todays statistics still show mortality in single figures (9) and hopsitalisation hovering around the 100 mark (101), so still no appreciable rises.

The important bit though, given we supposedly have this faster transmitting varient, is that the infection rate for today is for the first time showing a decrease. Heres your last 4 days infection rates.

A continuance of the decrease or things plateauing through the weekend will be good and they the Government will then have had the "few days " they needed to decipher things.

£1.50 TP for me by the end of July once all the films have played through and F9 and Black Widow will have swelled attendances. By then also the assumption is of capacity restrictions being fully lifted and the full of the US, UK and Europe being close to all vaccinated. All things considered I don't think that's unreasonable.

It's a wet and windy day so its my time to book a couple of films for myself and family over the next few days. I'm not on unlimited yet but it is sorely tempting.

I don't know if it will be of any help to you but being new on here it might just be worth pointing out that over the last two weeks, and I think many will concur, that this share price has moved contrary to the one thing we have all been waiting for and that being Reopening and the potential to generating revenue and profits. Nobody is under any illusions that there will be a way to get back to pre-pandemic levels but the way the share price is behaving today compared to the moves of the last two weeks it looks like somebody whoever was manipulating this price has now gone. (Touch wood) I'm not saying it was Bank of America but coincidentally and only yesterday there was an RNS from them showing they are all but gone. The general pattern of trading today seems very different. This all happened @CINE when at one of our smaller cinema competitors @EMAN gained 10% and has hardly budged. It maybe presents you with a bargain opportunity, maybe it won't. It's your choice but handy to know.

Morning BoPulist I was just counting the number of multiplexes open and still to reopen. Valid point made on capacity although in the US it seems to be relaxing by the day. Then on the other hand there is an unprecedented backlog of films coming along to constantly whet peoples appetite and there may be more screening times of the new releases. I have no comparisons with pre-pandemic)

We've just reopened and theres already lots to see already. Unprecedented imo: GvK, Mortal Kombat, Peter Rabbit2, Nomadland, Spiral, The Father, Statham, Angelina Jolie, Neeson and then next weekend and coinciding with the UK school break (28th may) its the turn of Disney's Cruella to hit the silver screen along with The Conjuring followed by A Quiet Place II (4th June). It's literally a conveyor belt of films and building to F9 and Black Widow in early July, and thereafter it just keeps going.

Those remaining in our European portfolio are Hungary (18 multiplexes) and Czech Republic (13 multiplexes). Hungary from the website is imminent.

Anecdotally, today also sees another 127 Regal Cinemas reopening in the US making all Regal cinemas now reopened in America. (I counted about 606) So tallying that with the recent UK and Ireland reopenings (About 125) and the European reopenings (61) then globally they should be running at about 94% revenue generating capacity reopened by 28th May.

Bring on the films and keep adding to those bums on seats, popcorns, hotdogs and icecreams.

Our Cinema City multiplexes in Slovakia have also just announced today that they are reopening on the 27th May.
