RE: Rise towards the weekend27 May 2021 10:14
It was dropped too far yesterday on what was effectively a "fake news" story of the Amazon deal being a threat to Bond being released in theatres when there have been many newspaper articles from Eon and Barbara Broccoli and others since stating Bond will be in the cinemas.
Resultant effect being a quiet bulletin board, people having disengaged and it was struggling to get 1M worth of trades in the first hour.
We know:
*97% of US cinemas are reopen
*Most UK Cinemas have just reopened.
* 82 should be reopened in Europe and Israel this weekend. 18 more in Hungary from 3 June, and like the UK after 8 months closed (Pent up demand).
* The first UK Box Office weekend with Peter Rabbit 2 and others was very strong in ticket sales and merchandise sales. (RNS)
* This weekend is looking good also and then its half term. (RNS)
* 3 new movies lined up to supplement a 2nd weekend of PR2, including Disneys Cruella.
* F9 took an eye catching $160M from 8 countries in its first weekend.
* F9 hits the UK on 24th June, US on 25th June.
* Marvels Black Widow hits the screens on 8th July.
Best just to leave them to it.
We are a massive global player, now about 97% reopened and the films are there.
Just let the £, $ and Euros from ticket sales, merchandise and in cinema advertising do the talking.
