Lets see if the click bait news media can actually produce a story which reflects this stabilisation of infection rates and hospitalisations and the reduction in rates to zero.

AMC is acknowledging the US Box Office takings from the weekend and add a bit of Reddit impetus as well. We though being just behind AMC as the number 2 will have had a similar slice of that cake as we had 505 cinemas open over there.

For whatever reason our share price is being controlled and moved by small single figure trades. This morning I could count through them all from 1 to 10 in about 2 minutes. Thats been going on now for several weeks and backed by algo's

Investingnewb I am tracking two cinemas on Peter Rabbit 2 by the day and one of them is sold out on all showings up to and including Thursday and is filling up quick for next weekend already. The other has been similar all weekend and was near capacity for a 10a.m. showing on Saturday morning, It had been full all day yesterday. Which Cineworld did you go visit out of interest?

Last weekend exceeded expectations in the UK. That we know from RNS and we also know from Mooky's comments that he expected this weekend to be strong also. Even he won't have expected things to be this strong for A Quiet Place Part 2 and both it and Cruella have turbo charged Memorial Day figures to circa $100 Million in the US.

But don't forget we also had the UK going into BH weekend and then this week is half term and its kiddie tickets with the parents with Peter Rabbit 2 in 2nd week, Cruella, The Conjuring and A Quiet Place 2 only starting this week.

Mooky also mentions Poland and Israel reopening in the RNS. In actual fact we reopened 83 multiplexes in Europe and Israel this weekend. Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, Israel. Hungary adds a further 18 on the 3rd June. Most have been shut for 8 months. Israel has been shut for 14 months. I don't know if you saw it but I popped up 2 research links for Israeli cinemas at the weekend just to give you some insight. One is our Cinema City and the other looks like it also. Both look really busy.

I personally think we might have comfortably surpassed last weekend by a very long way and as I keep saying its the £, $ and Euros in the till that you can't argue with.

Astonishing numbers which amount to just about the sum total of the full weekends takings for when Mortal Kombat and Demon Slayer both opened on the same weekend.

Just been to see the late showing of this. Really good film. About 35 people which was busier than I expected for the time of day. The Conjuring finished about the same time with about the same numbers spilling out. Closer to probably 90% this time with concession items.

I managed to speak to one of the staff members and asked how things had been since reopenings. Really busy was the reply. Told me that every one of the Peter Rabbit showings today was a sell out and that was the case all weekend. Stated the same also happens with Disney.

Given the superlative numbers at the Box Office this weekend we should be in for a very good week ahead. Not expecting any RNS's off Mooky personally as half term has only just begun.

However it is clearly evident from threads started here (trader threads imho) that many investors have completely misjudged this weekend. I think it also becoming readily apparent that market commentators and analysts have also misjudged the strength of the Box Office recovery as well.

Hopefully we should have a more complete picture tonight from the US Box Office on A Quiet Place 2 and Cruella which should cement this further in peoples minds. 505 Regal cinemas open over there should take a fairly big slice

A bit of tv advertising in the UK on QP2 and other billboard and other advertising I've seen on Cruella will certainly do no harm either.

Fast and Furious 9 has already been brought forward in the UK and US to 24th and 25th June.
Peter Rabbit 2 has also been brought forward in the US to June 11th.
and tomorrow we are into June and counting down towards F9 and our first blockbuster of the year.
