We can all express our own views as can the advisors but always remember that advisors advise and it is the commander, in this case the PM, who makes the decision. Vaccines Delivery Plan is all about vaccinating Cohorts 1-9 with two jabs and taking 99% mortality out of the system. Tonight we stand at circa 87% and have just over 4 million still to 2nd vaccinate. That will be achieved by 21st June and will be nearly there by decision day on the 14th.
Personally I have no problem if they extend a few weeks but with deaths and hospitalisations consistently so low It is hard to argue against fully unlocking. The death toll has not exceeded 20 for weeks and has been sat as low as 0 last weekend and the 1 which we have tonight. There is literally more chance of dying from being struck by lightning. That is with non essential shops having reopening, schools having resumed and face masks no longer required in class, al fresco dining and gyms reopening and then m,ore recently indoor hospitality reopening.
The NHS has literally ground to a halt for other serious procedures, like cancer referalls and operations, heart and lung transplants and other life-saving operations and I have read many a sad story on people with family dying because procedures have been delayed or postponed due to everything being put on hold for the pandemic.
Next few days numbers will be the most important ones but if he green lights Freedom Day then I can totally understand why. Sufficient time frames have been built in between times to allow for all scenarios top develop or not whilst at the same time allowing many people adequate time to assess and monitor things.
Tonight things are saying he should go for it but like they say the next few days data will be the all important ones.
