Just implant this seed in your mind for what it could mean for cinemas and those "empty seats" that have to be set aside presently between bookings to maintain social distancing. Remove that and its an entirely different dynamic for the bigger films. The PM promising an update by the end of the month.

Just remember in the back of your mind that there may be an update coming on lifting social distancing requirements by the end of the month. Thats what the PM said. What it would mean. No queues outside shops, no capacity restrictions, all changing rooms can reopen etc

You might be mistaken in your thinking ABY as many Institutions hold and I suspect will hold further for sustained recovery, and likewise with most PI's. Particularly given there have been some cracking recent trading statements coming out of retailers and all floor space is now reopening, including food and beverage establishments and cinemas.

MM's may well be lowering the price to try and gain any scrip shares they can on the cheap but that in itself is presenting opportunity.

UK come 17th May will see all occupied units reopened and France is reopening as well. It's probably a far better bet to keep your scrip shares and wait of the next quarterly rent (which I think will surprise) and for the £350 Million from the Retail parks sale to grace the balance sheet.

I think there will be plenty happy to take yours hares off you should you wish to let go.

M00la, interesting that the markets yesterday seemed to be quoting inflation fears for why most shares got hit in a poor market day. CINE hit for about 4.5% as well when Road Map unlocking had just turned in everyones favour in the UK.

I doubt that even one CINEworld customer will have gotten up yesterday morning and thought to themselves. I mustn't go to the movies as I am fearful of inflation?

Instead most would have been looking forward to UK cinemas reopening and booking some screen time.

Regardless of whatever liquidity generating excuse the market throws up we continue to reopen and vaccine backed. Ultimately you won't be able to argue with £, $ and Euros through the tills and you stand a far better chance of getting all of that with till reopened and ringing again, rather than closed for 8 months (October last year to May).

Let me contrast CINE with Easyjet for where they are right now.

Easyjet first. Only a couple of days back Grant Shaps and the Government delivered an annus horibblis statement for the travel industry with only 12 countries green lighted for take offs and landings. Two are not accepting UK visitors (NZ and Australia), one just fired rockets back at Hamas (Israel) after missiles reigned down in Jerusalem, and two others are in the Middle of the South Atlantic and hardly holiday destinations (Falkland Islands and Ascension Islands). Add on those mentioned extended processing and waiting times at airports also. Collectively I personally now think given the governments approach that the travel industry may struggle to salvage any form of summer and Easyjet. Yet today they fall only 3% on a poor market day. Why they are actually still sat above £10 is beyond me.

Cineworld by contrast is down roughly 4.5% today but by compariosn is now reopening swathes of cinemas in the US and more by the day. Another 153multiplexes set to reopen this Friday in the US. UK cinemas now also just given the green light for reopening on the 19th May. Feeder bars and restaurants opening at the same time. Should also indirectly benefit from any stayacations. Social distancing and capacity restrictions looking likely to be removed also come June. List of films also long as your arm to keep stimulating interest.

Well I may have voluntarily postponed my Easyjet holiday flights to next year but at least couretsy of Boris Johnson tonight I'll now be able to have a meal at Pizza Express or Nando's and watch a film or two at Cineworld.

At least the green list countries are on 3 weekly review.

Cineworld confirmed opening on the 19th May so after closing last October they will be more likely on reopening to pay any rent (and back rent) Normally big premises with multiplex cinemas. think also Odeon and Vue cinemas also in some large shopping centres.

The PM has also sanctioned the reopening of all those pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes in close proximity that act as "feeder" venues providing "evening out" custom.

The best bits were the PM's initial speach sanctioning reopenings and no loger face masks to be worn in school and the questioning at the end and particularly the one to the PM on social distancing and picking up on his previous comments re removing social distancing by 21 June.

That says further announcement coming before the end of the month and I interpreted it positively.

Overall a really good briefing and the fact that there has been only 4 deaths reported today and none of those were in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland reinforces things.

Calculated manipulation antmoss44 took it down to just under 91p when their was no justification for it. In fact the public domain information on US and UK vaccine success and on US reopenings was saying exactly the opposite.
