Yes pernix, see my comment on 27 Jan. Can't help but think that Strix is getting caught up in this rather than being a cause of it. Also agree that at sub - 200, if it gets that bad, it'll be a buy and hold. Expect to see a small recovery today as (potentially) shorts closed and profits taken for the weekend. Be wary if it opens down again on Monday morning though.

Unite, if you think this is a 50% dilution then you don't have the basic maths skills required to be an investor. Start by spending the next 20 years writing down train numbers. Then carry on with your new hobby, it'll be much safer for you.

... I've had some pretty horrendous experiences with share consolidations. Most have bombed, and the price has come back to the pre-consolidation price or, in some cases, well below (TRP). However, they bombed because the companies were cr@p, or they were taking risks that I was aware of and taking a chance on. PH can (arguably) impact the SP for whatever agenda they may have, but they can't affect the science. SAR will rise or fall depending on the efficacy of their discoveries, end of. So, if the price drops dramatically after consolidation as some here are predicting, I'll buy some more. Oh, and I bought & held TW. at 25p when they consolidated in 2009. Price today? £1.52. So it's a yes from Krusty.

Yes you're right, I still think though that there will be more opportunities arising and that GSF will want to keep its coffers topped up to ensure it can take advantage. As time goes by, this sector is going to become more and more competitive and they'll need resources to hand if they want to maintain their position at the top of the tree. All looking good though, as you say, and that 8p p.a. dividend can't be that far away now. This has been an excellent investment so far.

Agreed, really encouraging update again from GSF. There is much to look forward to here. Bananaman2, re your earlier question about the potential for future fund-raising, did you notice the statement "we continue to see extremely attractive significant acquisition opportunities for the Company not just in GB and Ireland but also internationally, particularly in European and North American markets and look forward to providing an update in due course."? Might be an idea to have some additional funds available if required.

In the meantime, we should be getting news of the next dividend payment here soon.

Hi Edwina, I'm invested in JLEN. Still waiting for notification of my allocation following the recent raise. I'm in here too but not heard anything about a raise in the offing. However, it's the nature of Investment Trusts such as this to take advantage of investment opportunities as they arise, and so there will always be the possibility of a call for funds. I retain an element of the dividends I receive to cover any such opportunities to add cheap shares. Good luck with your investments. K

Hmmm, market is completely underwhelmed. Down again, and rapidly closing on 12-month lows now. Like many other perceived "growth" shares, this is out of favour for the time being at least. I can't help but think this downward trend has further to go but who knows? It could just as easily turn tomorrow. For now though it's too risky for me & I won't be adding.

OK, I guess if you think this is "peace in our time" then buy. I added some at sub-150 in July last year, so my next target is 140. Let's see what happens...

Markets are tanking this morning, finally woken up to the threat posed by Putin in Ukraine. Risk very firmly off for now. This share has always been a ballsy hold, no more so than now.

I think the markets have finally woken up to the threat posed by Russia to Ukraine and the potential fall-out from a full-scale conflict. Risk is very much OFF just now. Time for steady nerves though. Nothing has fundamentally changed for Strix and at sub-250 now this looks an excellent investment. Just need to raise some funds to add some more.

Trouble is pernix, when the "great dividend" is less than 3% and UK inflation is running at 5.4% it doesn't stack up as an investment based solely on the yield. I can see that the SP has increased by 100% over five years, so in theory a growth share with bonus dividend, but the SP has gone into reverse recently. After another thumping great drop today, it's not showing any signs of recovering either. I have a small holding here following a tip about 18 months ago but it's a frustrating investment & I honestly don't know whether to pile in because the future growth story is compelling or cash out and move on. The jury is very much out for me. K

I've been a BP shareholder since I worked for them in 1995/6. They've been buying back shares, on and off, for years. The SP is lower now than it was 10 years ago. So I'm not a fan, sorry. I can't spend a buyback.

Never a bad idea to read something before commenting on it:

They're not small buys either are they? 30,000 & 45,000 shares respectively. If that's not a vote of confidence from a couple of NED's (one of whom is the Chairman) I don't know what is!
