How strange! I've re-read the RNS, seems clear enough as you say, that BlackRock has lifted it's holding from c. 5% to c. 10%. Been around the block enough times to know that mistakes can happen though, be interesting to see if there's any "clarification" from whichever source has got it wrong.

"Wonder if Blackrock acting in concert with Elliott". I had the same thought Wigan. Personally I think it's unlikely but if they perceive that Elliott might be the forerunner to a full-blown re-rate or takeover then a 10% position would be quite a powerful holding.

Absolutely Andy. Sad that many lth's on here were put off from top-slicing by the near-manic screaming from one poster in particular who no longer shows up here. I've learned some pretty horrendous (and very expensive) lessons in the past and wasn't going to get caught out again. I've managed to get half of my trading pot back at well under half what I sold them for, and have a buy order in for the other half at 106. Then I'll go back to waiting, I don't see any imminent news making a significant difference to the SP short-term. K

Yes I'm tempted too, can't help but think there could be worse to come yet though with the Ukrainian situation. There's no obvious route to de-escalation now.

Nice to hear from you adv_11, & thanks for asking re the wife. She starts her final treatment cycle next week so hopefully by mid-April we'll be seeing less of hospitals and more of the countryside. Hope your quest for seaside living is soon achieved.
What appears to be another good move for GSF this morning, if ever there was a good time to be investing in alternative power sources in mainland Europe this is surely it. I suspect it will be the first of many going forward, and will get my full support in that case. K

Agree to an extent Ben, hopefully they'll still have headroom for more land purchases as well as the dividend and share buybacks though. As DGR points out, the fundraise enabled TW to buy land much cheaper than they could now, so it's been good business for them and sets up the potential for significant growth from 2023 onward, if conditions remain favourable.
Lilac, I would have preferred the special divi too. As I said at the time it was originally mooted, I can't spend a buyback. I've opted to sell down some of my TW holding and (reluctantly) move it into BDEV as I much prefer their stated dividend policy.

It doesn't work that way Nathan. Citigroup (on behalf of the Board) will buy shares in the open market over a period of time (3 months initially) at the prevailing price. So it'll be like there's a big buyer out there, the whole time. Although 25m will be retained in Treasury, the rest will be cancelled once bought by the Board. If you assume the market cap remains unchanged, with less shares in circulation the theory at least is that each individual share is worth more because it represents a higher proportion of the value of the company.

I know it's frustrating but it's always been like this. There's definitely nothing you or I can do about it, & to be honest I don't know what the Board can do that they're not already doing. They're telling us everything they can whilst protecting the sensitive information that they surely wish they could share but can't. It's a waiting game, still, and hoping. My only suggestion, for what it's worth, is don't think about selling when the price drops. That's how clever money picks up cheap shares, and long-term holders end up frustrated.

Yesterday the sp dropped 8% pre-consolidation. Today it has dropped 8% post-consolidation. What's your point? Does today's 8% fall hurt more than yesterday's? This share has always fallen (and risen) significantly between news updates, for no obvious or apparent reason. That will continue IMHO, consolidation won't make the slightest difference.

Well this is a bugger's muddle & no mistake! Timetable suspended on 20th January, no update since then. So having accepted the offer (via my broker) they haven't sold, I can't sell and have no idea when (if?) funds will reach my account. In the mean time, I've got an urgent call on funds that I'll have to find elsewhere, but as this is in my SIPP it's not that straightforward. I always find a lack of clarity on these things frustrating.
