Do'h ALL loans have to be repaid and have a repayment date. What you are stating isn't new or shocking. The BoD should say "ok, we will take your loan but make it repayable after three years". Otherwise no point unless MA as CEO promises to work to put in alternative arrangements during the next year

It depends on whether the loan terms are better than the new terms being negotiated with the lenders. The company has to select the best option. If MA becomes CEO then he has to work in the best interests of all parties including shareholders. I cannot imagine him sudden recalling the loan etc. I see this as a positive development and hopefully the share price will reflect this today. 3.5p to 4p opening price is my prediction

Ignore him - he is simply a very good wind up merchant ... apparently he invested £80k in here (remember the trade??) .. a small fortune for most of us ... in a share which he keeps saying is at risk of administation - suspension - a CVA or D4E - or a mixture... he is a laughing stock ... and sadly this thread is stuck with him...
As soon as Debenhams secures a loan (either via the banks or MA) or there's a bid he will be backing this 100% again - the guy just wants to be right so will keep switching his opinion - it makes me laugh as no one knows one another here so there is no point making so much effort and posting so much (unless you don't have a partner or a life).. he should go over to Advfn and talk to DebsDowner - they are made for one another :-)

BTW when I mentioned M&S I was referring to the fact that on a Wednesday wet mid afternoon when school is on - most high street stores will be quiet - I have been in M&S many times during the afternoon and it has been quiet. This is not a Debs v M&S v Next point - it's a simple fact that most stores will be quieter during the afternoon (when some posters stated Debenhams was quiet today). Remember too that M&S has a food business - who knows what state it will be in (and John Lewis/Waitrose) if it only sold clothles??

Good to see I am not the only one fed up with this poster infesting this board 24/7 with his/her flip flopping and attention seeking - should be in sales... as for the shorters - you know the ones here who all suddenly visited a Debenhams store today (pmsl) well it's not half term or the weekend so of course mid afternoon the stores will not be jammed packed - nor will Boots, M&S, John Lewis etc etc etc - don't single one brand out - the entire high street is up the creek without a paddle - if one goes - others will follow - and I trust NO ONE wants that to happen (unless you are a shorter or work for an online company - a few of those types live 24/7 on Advfn...) I suspect we will get a RNS within days now - it's all gonna kick off aka Brexit

Realistic View - perhaps you should change your name to "worse case view"..? :-) Yes, a RNS can be rushed out if a D4E deal is secured OR if MA tenders a bid and the company responds...
Smartie2 - I am fed up of saying this BUT just a week ago,.. you were at OUR end of the spectrum because you were holding - as soon as you sold you did a 180 degree U-turn. Events have not changed - you have - because you want in lower..... (it's obvious and transparent)

I doubt the share price will move much either way until we get news. Sudden buying and/or shorts closing will give just a clue.
Also any RNS does not need to be at 7am...

Can I ask an question? What made you - just a few weeks ago invest a significant amount here?
Was it the 3p share price? The possible bid rumours? The possible CVA and/or refinancing ? A N Other?
All these points have not changed.
You decided to sell out. Maybe you felt the risks were too high or you had lost enough. Fine...but stop attacking others who have decided to stay invested. You are coming across as bitter, inconsistent and slightly obsessed. Let go!

You are right - some of us - including me - have got a bit too passionate here - some of us have been on this forum months now - but we know the risks - we have know them for months - we get a bit fed up of the constant negative reminders - from non holders. At least Debenhams will not be one of those companies that seem fine - but get suspended due to dodgy accounts or black holes or directors doing fraud - we know the risks already.
Although the balance sheet at the year end show decent net assets - a lot might have changed over the last six months - what will the balance sheet look like at the interims ? GL

Understand your point - but as the poster below states - it's probably to do with having a bit more financial backing behind the company to avoid any risk of the company going bust during the contracts - which can be over many years.

Smartie2 - I can't recall Pearls saying "buy the shares". I can't recall you saying "sell the shares" either. All posters have an (strong) opinion on here... I don't expect a dawn raid because he has the max allowed 29.9% before a bid - he has to make it official first.
If Pearls is right and it all kicks off tomorrow then I will be amongst the first to congratulate him - if nothing happens this week - I am sure Pearls will admit he got it wrong. Now go and chillax - the only posters who need to be active here atm are the ones with skin in the game - you have nothing to worry about atm !

..the guy who says he is finished for the day re posting ... but manages a mere 30 minutes before posting again - and in this half hour manages to somehow get to and walk around Debenhams and then report back. Don't know were he lives - but most Debenhams stores are not in urban areas - in Bristol it is pouring down with rain and 60mph winds - so I don't need to visit the store - ten minutes walk from the office - to work out it might be a tad quiet atm pmsl
