Agree RNS needed. For a start is the £150 million simply replacing current facilities or totally new additional debt. If so. ask why they need £150 million now. Clue - to get out of leases from 50 odd stores . Banks might not mind lending £150 million if it cuts rental costs by £50million p.a once these stores are closed and leases settled. We be back to a decent profit making company and the answer to the larger debt pile will be to issue shares. No wonder MA is getting desperate

Rogue River - disagree. Way less than one million people read/buy the Sunday Telegraph. Fewer will be invested in Debenhams. We have had a mixture of good/bad news recently and none of it has moved the share price much .. an actual RNS might..

Re post earlier - the Denmark business apparently made most of the 2017/18 profit so maybe the banks will not allow a sale sue to the profit generated. It is suppose to be worth around £100 million - this is my opinion.. the fact it has not been sold may also be because there has not been a buyer

Pearls, that doesn't mean you should rule it out. Sometimes admin happens without warning. Remember MA has acquired companies in administration. Ok he is offering a loan - but he will be weighing up the options. Companies have also had CVAs but later ended up in admin.
Like you I don't think it's likely - yet. Other events will probably happen first. (Cva-refinancing). So don't rule it out as one side here will be massively wrong soon

So yes - whether the change is immediate or in the 29th - the sells related to the index change. Not helpful. Lesson to learn perhaps for all of us - not to always reply immediately and be sure you are right. We all get facts wrong occasionally. :-(

However i agree changes appear to have been confirmed in the 15th March so will say sorry. However I posted based on my last knowledge of changes happening at quarter end - I am sure it was always the case. So when did the date change from the quarter end to the 15th. So I wish to confirm it appears I got it wrong but I did not mislead on purpose. Sometimes rules change and you are not aware of this. Sorry again Smartie

I suggest you Google I decided changes "in order to make periodic reviews we require companies to provide the latest up to date information". General changes are periodic/quarterly but perhaps if a company delists then the company in the 101tj position is automatically moved up to the index. Why this matters is beyond me. People were selling because if the risks and rent deadline not an index change ffs

Post reported. Indexed are updated at the quarter end. I know because I have been invested in companies that have switched indexes. You might be right that when the next index changes are confirmed - at the quarter end(!!!) - Debenhams will leave its current index. I have not said this may not happen but I repeat for the hard of hearing - changes only happen and are confirmed at the quarter end. I am not misleading hence your post reported for implying that indexes change during an quarter THEY DO NOT. Why should anyone listen to a poster who said he would not longer post?

I repeat so that it gets though to you - any changes to the index takes place on the quarter end or. Not now! Ie. We don't know which companies will be removed or added until it's confirmed in the 29th March. Even if a share price falls 99% they still remain on their index until it's made official at the quarter end. NOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

Yes MA has saved some businesses but stores have still closed and have SPD items on sell in HoF will not work - different type of customers.

Re FTSE listings - changes happen on 31st March not now - the share price has been stuck in the 3-4p range for a while now so I doubt Debenhams will move off the index .. yet. Indeed if there is a £200 million D4E event and the company remains listed (with current shareholders diluted) then perhaps the listing might move UP to the FTSE350 - who knows!

I don't think I have you wrong -- I mean you said it was your last post and you return half hour later. So are you back for good or having a final final tour on here? :-)
You know I have been active on here since around October when I first considered an investment but my (indirect) history with the company goes back 30 years so have always had a soft spot for Debenhams.
Lets go back then.. Sains@vision probably started mentioning a CVA back in October.. at first his posts seemed far fletched but over time gathered more substance.. then around January talk of refinancing started and D4E became an option. We also knew MA could bid again in March. All this has been known for months - the only change imho has been that the risks have increased of any of these options happening - and sorry you were quite positive up to 3-4 weeks ago - just look back yourself.
Again - you can change your mind - but it's quite a switch from being 100% bullish to being mostly negative isn't it?
BTW when you ask if admin is more likely etc. I see it as passing your "stress" on to others .. I only say this because I know the signs .. if you are worried fine - but don't expect shareholders to agree with you lol

Btw you know my issue with you is simple. While a shareholder you ramped non stop. Then when you sold you became 100% negative when I believe we all knew the risks of admin/CVA for months. Just be honest - you change your views to justify whether you are invested or not. Most normal posters maintain the same viewpoint unless there's a material change in newsflow..

Well tbh debt isn't clear. Just read results again. Net debt £321 million but unclear if this includes the £200m bonds.
Also company stated going concern "fine" for next twelve months. Obviously trading has got worse but not sure if BiD misled shareholders or simply did not factor in the deterioration and the fact all their time will need to be on fending off MA and sorting out their finances. Amdinistration obviously is likely IF refinancing is not agreed. Not sure if shareholder wipeout but agree on significant dilution if D4E happens.

Also remember retail is suffering - even Arcadia might have a CVA. This isn't a Debenhams specific issue except they are at fault re long leases. No one should want massive retail chains disappearing from the high street (except those working - and maybe posting -for online retailers)
