Would sell at 89-90. Just ride the bounce for 10-15% then out. Wouldn't be confident that it'd make it back above 100 anytime soon.

Still happy to wait for <79p buy-in. Not overly convinced of a near-term upside from these levels, but decent downside risk still.

I think there's no realistic possibility of a positive signal for international travel on the 5th. Global case numbers are going so resolutely in the wrong direction that they would be accused of yet more incompetence and reckless indifference to open up the borders. After all the country has given up just to suppress the virus to current 5000 per day levels, international travel would be untennable - and moreover requires reciprocity from other countries, which themselves are mostly trying to suppress their own third waves. They will say wait and see, and *maybe* and *if* the data allows it, but they will not say: go ahead, book your holidays. If anything, the number of countries on the red list will grow.

But it's the end of March... April is next month, how can you judge his forecast's accuracy in advance? I think 64p is overly bearish and quite unrealistic, but 90s and then 80s are definitely plausible by the end of April, given the current trajectory.

Definitely looks like the start of an uptrend now. Could see 680 by the end of the week, and into the 700s next.

No, but suspect it was simply the market shifting focus, and thus funds, into other opportunities, but I see them coming back at these prices. Chart looks, hopefully, like it's found the bottom of this current dip, and I'd expect to see some investors join back in on the run up to results in two weeks time.

Not to point out the obvious, but... it was in the 90s last week, on wednesday morning. That it's currently taking a break at 105 support doesn't mean it won't revisit the 90s once the trend is confirmed.

There will be no international holidays this year. Global case numbers rising precipitously, looking likely to far exceed the winter peak within a month. To whoever was so confused by the market supposedly looking 6 months ahead and the share price still not budging... the market is looking 6 months ahead and seeing RR engines still largely grounded this year. Long haul travel is not facing an imminent recovery. There seems to be some collective delusion among holders here that the vaccine has already solved the crisis, but this is more like the end of the beginning than the beginning of the end. Only 4% of the world's population have yet received a single dose (of what are mostly 2 dose regimes). That's not enough for a global summer unlocking this year.

What a ridiculous statement. Buying low and selling high is the essence of making money. Target buy prices and target sell prices are how you do that. Stop talking nonsense.

Final results are out on the 15th of April. Personally, I'm expecting a decent rise into them, hopefully back to ~700.

I try to buy low and sell high. I think in a FTSE that has largely stagnated for two decades, buying and holding blindly is wasteful and futile.

I'd be interested in the fundamentals you are using to inform your hold decision however.

Consider what the share price was back when Rolls revised its flight hours expectations down; what the share price was before they announced the sale of Bergen and optimism around selling ITP. Consider what the price was then, and try to appreciate that that downgraded flight hours expectation is now likely a reality, with the Bergen sale cancelled and no news of progress on the disposal of ITP. Then explain why the share price today won't return to where it was then and why you're upset that anyone else would be holding off buying at this much higher price?

I reason every position. If you want to stick your head in the sand and ignore the state of play it's on you.
Trading shares is about judging the way the wind is blowing and spotting when it's changed. This isn't a RR fanclub. You ought to be reviewing your position continuously.

So when I called the drop and sold at 127.7 I was wrong? When I said if it broke 104 it would test the 90s, I was wrong? I misjudged the timing of the bounce, that's all, buying back in at 117 hoping to get out again at 122, but instead selling again at 114.2 when it failed to bounce.

You really ought to just filter me, it's tedious how precious you are over other people's opinions.

I'm still going to discuss the downside pressures on a share as much as the upside. I was bullish when the forecast was bullish, but now the situation has turned it's fair to be more guarded. From here, there's more scope for rolls to fall than rise in the near term, and long term might depend on its near term survival.

Content to watch from the side at the moment, still nowhere near levels that'd be comfortable to buy in at. I think what upside potential there is left, is far outweighed by the potential downside from here. Case numbers are rising precipitously in all but a handful of countries and global travel depends on open borders everywhere, not just a select few - who themselves seem to have no plans to open up. Upside, maybe it brushes 110 again with some fair sailing, but downside, could see it fall another 20-30% on further poor news.

It's really tough to say. The UK is obviously among those leading the vaccination roll-out, and yet the prospect of unlocking for international travel here for this summer seems to be diminishing. If the leading countries aren't contemplating opening their borders then what is the likelihood of those trailing far behind opening up any. Any relaxation from full bans will likely only ever be to quarantining, and that's not going to be palatable to travellers. No country will want to risk fully open borders when there are plenty of Petri dish countries with high case loads spawning new variants. You can't just ban travel to those countries because by only a degree of separation they'll arrive via another. Rolls has shored up its cash, sure, but hasn't managed to sell the assets it hoped to sell and could now be facing the reality of its worst case flight hours projection. So it's really touch and go.

Sorry, it's not even that, 3.5% have had at least one dose. I quoted the wrong stat. It's just over 6 doses per 100 (as obviously some have had two already).
