Catch 22 situation WBAFC. Abusive patients not acceptable , however in the absence of available LFTs one can understand the worry.
If you have a child with symptoms and know there is a short time frame for antibiotics to work effectively , then persistance is the name of the game. I too would be relentless in pursuit of something that could save my child's life. I know it is an extreme attitude , but with the tragic loss of 16 children's lives , who highly probably would be alive if they had been given antibiotics quickly , I don't think I'd be hanging about for an appt next Thursday. Not surprised they are attending A&E in droves , no doubt spreading it further , but without tests , what is the alternative..
