Would appear that yet again the govt are telling us porkies. Not only does this pharmacist claim there is a shortage , he claims he is having to pay over x5 the normal rate and will only be reimbursed one fifth of the cost .... so how many pharmasists can afford to keep buying it is the immediate question that springs to mind. Perhaps the govt is stockpiling it ?

Catch 22 situation WBAFC. Abusive patients not acceptable , however in the absence of available LFTs one can understand the worry.
If you have a child with symptoms and know there is a short time frame for antibiotics to work effectively , then persistance is the name of the game. I too would be relentless in pursuit of something that could save my child's life. I know it is an extreme attitude , but with the tragic loss of 16 children's lives , who highly probably would be alive if they had been given antibiotics quickly , I don't think I'd be hanging about for an appt next Thursday. Not surprised they are attending A&E in droves , no doubt spreading it further , but without tests , what is the alternative..

What I wish they had put in their tweet was that it was for professional use only and therefore yes still five minutes and great for hospitals , doctors surgeries , schools via nurse , places like Katalyst but not Amazon or shops ! Just discovered.

I've already been cheeky Mr Midget and posted on twitter Sir Digbys telegraph article , attached the chief science officers write up with a pic of a q in his kitchen and suggested a marriage made in heaven , # Novacyt , so they will see it. I wasn't too cheeky though , didn't copy the Amazon contact.
As Poidster said , interesting to see what Novacyt do , they know all this. And I admit I was braying on about a commercial Monkeypox test and that has at the moment abated and they were proven right.

Anyone know how long it takes to manufacture these Strep A LFTs and if there is likely to be any shortages of key ingredients ( don't know correct terminology ) reagents / covid springs to mind. I can't imagine Novacyt have huge quantities of these just sitting around .

Get in touch with TV channels to discuss the 5 min strep test. Make it available to the public via Katalyst or equivalent , many parents would purchase, I would ! SirDigby if... the DHSC are foolish enough to proceed to court, there is an established pattern of lying , and although impartial , the continuing attacks on what the government perceives as judicial interference in many walks of political life will have taken there toll.
I think the 'dispute 'loses credibility with each test passed by the CTDA. Time will tell .
