This whole farce is the direct result of not adhering to the established procurement regimes and it is the islanders who will lose out.

I am not remotely concerned by the life expectancy of the ferry , he has leased it , probably on a rolling basis with get out clauses and could do similar again if he so desired. I'm pretty certain he knows a great deal more then we do on the subject matter.

I am not saying I am a huge fan of the whole concept , I can however clearly see why JW has proceeded in this way and if he wants to run with it or walk away , I'm okay with both approaches. I just don't accept their are huge financial penalties.

The ISSG will imo struggle without competition, if JW proceeds they will not survive. Whether it ultimately benefits Harl is another matter entirely.

With regards to Kraken its a standalone business, winning awards , doesn't appear to be a millstone , nor would I Imagine it has cost a fortune , it didn't merit an RNS , therefore it has made no material difference.

I might well agree with that Hebridean, but am not in possession of facts to make comment. In principle I agree with that statement . However I don't agree about a 46mm shortfall because of scilly. I think it will be substantially less. As it is January I'm not over excited by a potential 10 % shortfall at this stage.

As we know, we have an unexpected guest in Belfast and we could already in part be covering that.

That can never have been the case Hebridean. As you are well aware payments are always staged , weighted mid to near completion of contract. The Scilly ferry was never going to be started and completed in 2024. He cannot have earmarked this contract for its entirety in 2024. He may well have a number within that 200 million that relates to the Scilly contract.

Unknown here is the lease costs for the ferry , could be the case that H&W reach breakeven with 2 fast sailings and cheaper fares. Dunno, but once live it will cripple the SSG , “the rules of fair play do not apply in love and war "

That may be the plan, who knows ? Guess it depends on the speed Cory want them rolled out and I am led to believe from what I've read that in Belfast the manufacturing of them is helping apprentices learn core skills.

Riverside 2 due to start operations in 2026. This will increase the processing capability from 850, 000 tonnes per year to 1.5 million tonnes. I expect to see continued new orders for barges and hopefully H&W will be the chosen recipient .

What interests me about the completion of this acquisition is twofold.

1. It highlights to me that the current cashflow runway is not an immediate concern to JW. Albeit I do not know if pyts are staged.

2. It is confirmation of JW's intent to pursue his plans re the Scilly Isles.

He appears to be held in high regard.
