OPEN OFFER - Quick examples and brief info if it helps30 Dec 2025 12:07
Ladies n Gents
Just for the 'Silent Readers and Watchers' of these message boards. This is an Open Offer and you should be able via your trading app or via a phone call to your broker to find out what your entitlement is and how much it will cost you to purchase. Key words = Rockhopper, Corporate Action, Open Offer.
I hope we aren't all getting too excited about how much we could make out of this. Its very small amounts really. Below, is a quick list of examples of holdings, how many you would be entitled to, the cost and...... as an example, how much you would make based on purchasing at 53p and the shares trading on the open market at 70p :-
You have 100 shares, your entitlement is 2 shares at cost of £1.06, market value at 70p = £1.40 so profit of 34p
you have 500 shares, your entitlement is 10 shares at cost of £5.30, market value at 70p = £7 so profit of £1.70
you have 1000 shares, your entitlement is 20 shares at cost of £10.60, market value at 70p = £14 so profit of £3.40
you have 10,000 shares, your entitlement is 204 shares at cost of £108.12, market value at 70p is £142.80 so profit of £34.68
you have 50,000 shares, your entitlement is 1020 shares at cost of £540.60, market value at 70p is £714.00 so profit of £173.40
you have 100,000 shares, your entitlement is 2040 shares at cost of £1081.20, market value at 70p is £1428 so profit of £346.80
you have 200,000 shares, your entitlement is 4081 shares at cost of £2162.93, market value at 70p is £2856.70 so profit of £693.77
Or... Just take your holding and divide by 49 and round down.
If you are doing this via a share ISA then as long as you have enough ready cash in the ISA for the shares then you should be ok. If you are up to your £20,000 limit and its all tied up in stock then you can't add further cash to your ISA, you would have to sell some stock to realise cash in your ISA or maybe discuss with your broker if there is an alternative.
Hope the above is of help, if for any reason I'm not been clear or theres a school boy error tucked in above calculi then let me know.
As always, my very best and sincere regards to all
Wishing you all good fortune.
