Robb.
I'm luckier than some, even if there is a drop, I'll still be sitting on a plus side of 26% or so over 10 weeks with IAG. I'm OK with that. Overall I'm up a real 130% (from 1 to 2.3 as a factor for instance) approx in the last two years only having owned 4 stocks over that period. On NWG, LLOY and IAG and BARC. Yes of course it's bad to see them go down, but that is share holding for you, especially at uncertain times like these. If advised by an IFA would anyone regard a 20% annual return bad if it were offered? I don't think so. I've beaten that, so am content. But that is why it's always necessary to reevaluate ones investments, depending on conditions, and your personal thoughts/conditions.
It's very odd, ( and all down to luck I'm sure) my first IAG holding was at around 190 to 200 early last year, messed about a bit, then sold out completely, breaking even (just) and into banks when they dipped again. Only bought back into IAG from late last year when they dipped.
I can't stress too highly, do your own research, only invest what you are happy with and take every bit of outside advice with a ladle full of salt. Those people are not you, nor you them.
