I was thinking more along the competition lines as there are lots of low cost airlines in Europe, and that North Atlantic and long haul is where most money is made. For IAG to be cut out of much of that might be an issue possibly?

I wondered exactly the same thing myself. It would certainly seem to fit with their shortage of routes, build them into a real 'Player' and one of the big boys. Their sovereign wealth fund could afford it. Just imagine what it could do to their tourist industry! Joined up thinking or wishful thinking? Whether the remainder of IAG would want such a competitor though is doubtful. Let's just wait and see.

It's always a bit of a guessing game, though I don't see your order being filled. Airlines seem to following flock mentality a bit ATM to me at least, and EasyJet is really flying.

Robb. I sold a few at open then bought back in on the dip. Made just over a couple of pence per share. So i hope (for purely selfish reasons), that you are wrong :)
Longer term trajectory (unless you know of a better option) is good here I think.

I've never heard of "waves" of money tanking a stock. A trough which is the opposite of a wave may I suppose as it's a negative feature and waves are positive. Though one only has to look at the price and trading over the last few weeks to see what way the ocean is moving. That a certain person always try's to find and publicise many unfounded or manipulated out of context negative stories is telling in itself. Just ask, why when we are moving up, does "it" never find any positives? after all, many others are, hence the rise. If you are in fact interested in making money, don't listen to bashers, neither to pumpers, DYOR and base your actions on knowledge not hate and sadness.

In a field where information is key, I just wish that he would go away. I wonder how many people "it" has dissuaded, and who could have made some money? It's almost criminal, luckily some like myself have blanked "it" . I my view "it " deserves no sympathy at all, or any good luck.

Maybe then you should look at the charts for the last six reducing to one month, they are as railway lines. Do you know how to read them?

And how would the E.U. turn against a Spanish, Irish and French airline group? The worst that could happen is that they would delist on FTSE we would all be given Euro based stock of the same value and when all the management move from the UK to Spain (lucky sods) it would reduce the spend on real estate and support staff. Stock held in accounts here would not change. Borrowing any money within Europe if required is cheaper. So in a way, it's a positive!
Please explain if I'm missing anything.

Dealing on the Borse in Spain has half the tax as on the the FTSE here, also I seem to remember so, Bring it on!.
We all know that the E.U. supports business better that the government here.

As we have seen, there seems to be something of a unity between airlines prices in the states and IAG's price behavior. I look at what happens there after we close here. It can indicate opening moves here the next day. So. Since close here, they have moved ahead another 2% or so. This could well bode well for open tomorrow if it is maintained to the close there. I hope that I've explained that well enough.

Yes,it seems that way. I suppose the covid crash and potential jump amplifies it too. Potentially lots of money to be made. If one looks at the RR six month chart there are 40% moves in 9 market days. Potty.
