Whilst like you and most here, I too would like the dividend to be paid (as I assume the major shareholders do also) their focus I imagine will be on protecting the company (with it's greater value to all) going forward in these uncertain times. The idea of a dividend 'IOU' so to speak seems a valid one and could be the best of all worlds, allowing financial flexibility for the future.
Regarding put1n and further escalation the reason I don't see that happening is that without going nuclear (I think that the russian generals/Chinese would not allow that). I think that put1n realises that he would not win, simple as that. He realises that he would be deposed, tried and convicted. All of his recent gains would also be lost as the clock would be turned back on the other countries recently invaded. It seems that this conflict is showing that (in conventional arms terms at least) russ1a is not quite as powerful as most had supposed or feared.
