As you probably live in russ1a are you having problems buying stuff? Would gold be useful on the growing black market just as it was in Intourist days before it's privatization ?

Are you not married? No significant other at all? Are you not invested anywhere else such that your wisdom is better used?

But as I see it, your posts teach nothing here, you castigate others for their actions without knowing their circumstances and seem to have a very "I told you so" attitude. Do you find that works well with "Your" sales team? Obviously all here would agree that hindsight is a wonderful thing, nothing you have said as far as I can see, uses any other guide.

I did add a paragraph to my email as follows. Don't suppose it will hurt I am just an ordinary bod after all.

"One important point to note is that my investment decision was made in large part due to the listing of the company on the LSE, and thus falling within the scope of an ISA account holding (another sign of company qualification as far as I am concerned). I had assumed that Evraz had been fully vetted in the normal way for a LSE quoted company and hence be a trustworthy vehicle for my savings. It seems now, that for reasons outside the companies influence or control, sanctions have been taken against the company purely due to it's having a certain major shareholder. Would it thus be fair to conclude that the original vetting appraisal was at fault and that Evraz should not have been allowed onto the LSE as that shareholder has not modified their relationship to the company?

Please be advised that Evraz plc have announced that the Demerger of its coal business, Raspadskayem (RASP), has been suspended indefinitely. This is due to the company waiting for clarification regarding regulatory restrictions following the Financial Sanctions Notice issued on 10th March 2022 and from the Russian authorities on the shareholder rights to dispose of the shares received as part of the Demerger process.
In addition to the above, the recently announced dividend which was due to be paid on 30th March 2022 has also been cancelled.

If Evraz were to provide the steel in some way for rebuilding, it would probably be worth a tiny fraction of any overall budget. Possibly not even worth the cost of shipping the stuff from anywhere else.

If that happens and the non russian assets are valued exclusively there is an uplift of about 200% in share price. If then restitution against russia for the loss is added then add another 100%.

After WW2 Germany was a broken nation, reparations were charged but not to a level of material damage caused. Unlike this present situation where russ1a has many £/$/E/Y/billions held captive in western institutions and are unable to control it's destiny. russ1a is also a a functioning nation and will need to reestablish 'normal' relations with the rest of the world in due course.

Regarding democracy I really have no idea what that is, having worked in various countries they all seem to have different takes on what democracy is, some more or less good than others. Generally speaking though democracies do not poison, murder, lock up or denude the wealth their populations to suit themselves and try their best to help ALL citizens of any political leaning. Some of those anti democratic traits are about us in the UK now I am sorry to say, but luckily we have not yet disappeared so far down the rabbit hole as to make it impossible to climb out.
