Whilst I agree that the longer this war goes on more lives will be lost, one has to ask some questions.
Is a stronger Ukrainian response causing russia to reevaluate, possibly leading to peace talks?
What would be the effect on the Ukrainian nation of russian rule?
What would that russian expansion potentially mean to other ex soviet block countries?
Should the U.K and other nations have just let Hitler run amuck and take over everything? Obviously that would have meant less deaths for some, though many more deaths for others.
I am no believer that the west is always right and the east is always wrong, but what really would be the eventual outcome of capitulation? This though is easy for me/us to debate as we are not at risk of destruction.

Why does it mean that these resignations were not in some way to appease or carry favour with the FCA?
Whoever appointed them is unknown, the conditions surrounding that are unknown. What is known is that appointing new NED's wipes the slate clean and removes any possible problems. Whether real or simply in the minds of the FSA.

Thank you for one of the most illuminating and thought provoking of posts I've seen. Many may not understand it's far reaching impact and truth. Shame really, that it will be lost in this place only. Just to think, at a time when buffoons rule our nation, intellect goes mostly unnoticed.

Dribbles, you seem to have an odd understanding of economics. There is little added value in raw materials, they are subject to world pricing and there is very little differentiation between suppliers, that's why they are called commodities. Whereas BMW or GM take some steel sheet at £1300 per tonne Plastics at £2500 and turn it into a car costing £40,000 per tonne.
Why else does China husband it's raw materials importing instead and produce finished high value goods ? Presently they are fairly cheap, one day, they will be scarce, more valuable and so China will monopolize all sides of production.
Expediency and lack of alternatives is why the west buys them now. That won't last. Solar farms and Nuclear and renewables will put paid to that. Putin has sounded the starting gun.

I really don't think India, North Korea or Vietnam are going to buy that many big TV's, or posh cars that are stuffed with electronics that China make. Though I do think that America and Europe will do.

Ok, I better see your reasoning, truth is though that we presently have no real idea what if anything is being done, or under what constraints they are operating. I would imagine that there is a certain level of shell shock around there at the moment, though communication could possibly be better. The resignations I would have thought were to strengthen their case, how many hires have there been to replace those that have left if any?
I don't see that the petition is pointless, it should not be the only thing being done, true, but it can only hurt if it shows apathy within the common shareholders many of us being Brits.
One possible (though off the wall) scenario here is that it's all just for public appeal and it's already decided what will happen, Chelsea FC is being sold and the money frozen. That's simpler because it's a UK only thing, but what about the American and Canadian production facilities for Evraz? Jobs are important (to those countries at least) so a unified action is more difficult I would suspect.
Seeing the connection between the PM, politicians and oligarchs and all that, make this a minefield, it seems like a bit of a face saving exercise, to show hardball is being played to me..
I am keeping everything crossed though.

Evraz is not selling consumer products on the high street. Public approval is not required I would say and is relatively unimportant. They possibly have fewer than 50 customers or distributors. This will be a hard headed well informed bunch, driven by price, availability, security of supply and quality, these relationships are built over time, the customers would also have appraised Evraz as a reliable supplier.
True those companies could have shareholders who could be in a small part negative, but by the time that goes around the war will be over and it will be forgotten I think.
I don't see large (if any) losses due to delisting specifically, if it were likely why would companies be flocking to Chinese suppliers for many types of products, many of whom are far less reliable and in many ways unknown? Remember also that steel and coking coal prices are rising, Evraz are in a sweet spot.

Some here in the past have proposed that RA's assets would be subject to a 'Fire Sale' with prices of pennies in the pound. It seems otherwise in reality, certainly regarding good assets. (Not a big fan of the mail, but it was the first link I found). Evraz is an even more compelling asset in my view, dividends over the last 6 years were around 60% PA if taken on current share price levels.
