Exited this first thing, for one simple reason. MM had to give his BOD good reason for the Apollo rebuff, and I can’t see any sign of it in these results. My personal opinion, but very disappointing. I wish all LTH only a good result down the line, which I think you’ll possibly get as this madness has to come to an end. GLA O&O
Big shout out to several very knowledgeable and hugely informative posters on here, you guys and girls put the paid analysts to shame.
@Sp @dafad @ihave @onsolid plus many others on here who’ve given us the true picture of what’s been happening in real time. GLA Thurs
For all his at times erratic behaviour, you’ve got to hand it to Matt, he’s twice pulled off outstanding deals with SoftBank & the Qataris’. I’m optimistic that Mr Montana has another one up his sleeve, when you factor in the strong hints we’ve analysed here over the last few months. What better time to regain the higher ground than announcing it alongside results on Thursday. Thinking there could also be a surprise update in the mix for Ingenuity, as MM said back in April ‘our unique end to end global multichannel solution..will continue to expand as a result of our continuous programme of innovation’. Over to you Matt. GLA
Matt Montana must know that any slip ups and he’s on very thin ice. When Apollo had a tilt at this earlier in the year, it’s a strong signal that there’s outstanding value waiting to be unlocked. If it was Ipo time now, ok forget a fiver, but a good case for £2.50, certainly not a quid. GLA for Thursday 7o’c.
Sure, he has some interesting quirks, but find it inconceivable that Matt Montana would head into next week without delivering. Why buy City A.M unless there was going to be a big story to tell. The momentum that has been building for months now in the background with Ingenuity. Nutrition powering on. Whey costs. A constantly strong ticker of positive news across the business globally. Even Matts’s body language, he seems a lot more relaxed, I hope we all are too, come next Thursday. GLA
Think deep down MM knows the ‘we’re only just getting going’ shtick won’t wash if these results and accompanying news aren’t red hot. I feel he wouldn’t have snapped up City A.M. unless he knew things were good, in preparation. Also, believe Apollo are accumulating just under the radar. They screwed up with Wood in May, and must be regretting it, with the news flow strong there ..as I believe it will prove here next week. GLA
In the last two hours of trading on a single day last month, Ocado, a stock often mentioned on this board moved up 25%, without any news. Now if a FTSE 100 constituent can do that, imagine what would transpire here if the news was good. My instinct is the blockbuster announcement comes from Ingenuity, with Matt saving it to accompany the results. Interesting fortnight coming up. GLA
recent spat with *****essential just a sideshow. mm needs to deliver a powerful message alongside next month’s results, and i think he will. good time to announce a spectacular, and at heart i think he knows it, the clock is ticking. personally i’d be very surprised if he’s just been blagging it these last few months, this is your time matt. gla
The price is gently drifting like a lilo in a luxury villa pool, probably where all the deal makers are currently residing, burner phones tucked under their holiday reads. So many possibilities here that would instantly ignite the SP, I have a feeling Matt is going to take us all by surprise come September. GLA
Substantial after hours trades again today and virtually every single day over the last 8+ weeks. Would love to know where these are all going..shorts closing perhaps, maybe Apollo accumulating before a return, or could be someone just shy of official notification at present building a strategic position ahead of a corporate action. Whichever it is this is going to reveal itself soon imo. GLA
Very interesting to see a successful Spac deal announced yesterday. CorpAcq going public in New York via a £1.58 billion blank cheque merger. I suspect this is where we’re heading shortly, most likely imo with Ingenuity. Now where did someone say Matt had gone to on his holidays .. GLA
Candidate requirements include ‘a love for working with numbers’, ‘a great grasp of a P&L’, and ‘the right way to drive great results and change’. Hope these characteristics apply all the way to the very top! GLA
@onsg
Agreed we don’t want MA involved here, big M has his hands full with Ao, Boo, Curry’s, and much better he is out of our way. A distraction imo.
Our, as in MM’s, focus is on keeping the strong narrative building, as the doomsters and naysayers become increasingly muted, we will move to a new base camp 135-150 even without any blockbuster news. GLA
Of course, it would be a major scoop if Cityam were to announce a large UK corporate action after being acquired by it’s new owner. Gets splashed worldwide. Now I wonder what on earth that bit of news could be..GLA
With the so called broker expert analysts, it’s like recording News at Ten and watching it a month later. You learn precisely nothing. It would be fascinating to see all of them replaced by us lot even for a charity day. On here is the closest you get to real time breaking news. 120-125 baked in short term on growing realism about trading, whey, fcf. Any significant Ingenuity news or property RNS and it’s anyone’s guess. GLA
A holiday reading suggestion for MM, ‘How to communicate to the Market’ by Lord Wolfson of Aspley Guise. Come to think of it, Matt, just go straight to the Next Annual Report, it’s a master class in getting a seriously grown up message out that the Market understands. Simon Wolfson’s analysis of the Next business is forensic, and the City loves that exquisite detail he brings. MM has something special in THG and Ingenuity, and we’re entrusting our hard earned cash in him to deliver. It’s not the time for petty grievances to get in the way here. GLA
A good thing MM announced a £14M improvement to the bottom line and immediate cash contribution of £4M, otherwise where would the price be. 🤣 Would be good if we can stabilise by close at 100 and then next week go again. Worth bearing in mind that we closed this time last week at 97, so no real drama. GLA
