Mr Z there are no real experts on this, and even Dr T seems to be struggling and he is the expert! My take is that the network is so connected (itself a good thing, lets put a positive spin on this appalling situation), the wells are close together and turbulence from the one well is f*cking up the flow of the other (and vice versa). That will only reduce if you choke back both wells, but then you don't get the desired combined flow. Cant see a remedy how ever much you fiddle with relative rates. The wells are simply too close to each other.

Spirit has been on my mind too Gasman. I cant decide if it would be regarded as good or bad if they did walk away - could leave the way open for a new JV bringing even more cash in for exploration which could be a good thing. However I'm equally concerned that such a withdrawal by Spirit would be initially (at least) be seen as negative by the market. There is inevitably a question mark hanging over GWA at the moment, but surely GLA is worth this SP (and more) alone.

Ok. We are restricted to 20k (up to 30k?) due to the EPS. But with full field development, if that happens within HURs tenure, I Iassume production would be far in excess of that in production terms.

I looked at the pension deficit and agree with Pokerchips. The DC scheme is of course ok. The last valuation of the DB scheme was 3 years back, during which time equity prices are roughly 20% down,. However by no means all the assets in a DB pension fund are held in equities, a substantial proportion are held in fixed interest with term chosen to match liabilities. But weakening equities wont have help a DB scheme deficit. There is a move since the last actuarial valuation by the government to stop publishing RPI inflation measure and to forced DB schemes to adopt CPI - if that effects AMLs DB scheme then the deficit position will be eased. So a mixed message but cant see a £300m deficit is likely

I wouldn't worry about it unless this goes on 6 months or more. My Lotus often sits six months in winter and hasn't been a problem. Generally I give it a couple of gallons of fresh petrol every few months and run the engine till warm.

Apparently Motley Fool published an article about HUR a few hours back. Conclusion was that now is not the time to buy HUR shares. Thank goodness, if there is one tipster I don't want HUR recommended by its them, in my experience pretty much always 100% incorrect in what they say. It was a relief I can tell you.
