In cases like CINE, the company is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it. And in any case the $10bn you are talking about is largely made up of intangible assets like the goodwill, ie you are valuing thin air surrounding CINE at $10bn.
Let me float another scenario...what if the mookster does a back door deal with lenders whereby he surrender all CINE assets, do in the shareholders and then buys back with his own resources the RoW business from lenders at less than true valuation? What is to stop him doing that? Once assets goes to the lenders, they can do what they like. In fact, they may struggle to sell the assets and have a ready a buyer in mookster.
