Just relaying message from other board. Top Ukraine Commander Valeri Zaluzhnyi is presumed dead or seriously wounded. Not seen in public for some time, not attended family wedding, not joining NATO meetings etc.

If true it is a serious blow for Ukraine. Not seen at the wedding is actually a wise thing to do cos you dont want to expose in any way your friends and loved ones to any harm. Not seen in public is quite serious.

Planit...I did say it is falling into place but were not there yet completely. And yes, I do think POLY will be difficult to accommodate in ISA and impossible within SIPP, but we have known this for a while now.

The machinery for those holding outside ISA and SIPP now appears to be in place and processes reasonably made clear thanks to the many sharing their experiences on this bb.

I see the current uncertainty continuing in the run up to redom vote on 30th May. I think the apparatus regards administration of shares once POLY redoms is slowly falling into place eg. Tabys, brokers, ISA holdings.

The uncertainty regards Russia response under Putins decree in late April remains. Russia may be tempted to respond to the wests sanctions in which case POLY would be a casualty as long as it remains listed on the LSE. IMO Russia will respond which implicates POLY, but would have minimal impact if this happens after May 30th if POLY passes the vote to redom.

Not so long ago, some on this board said the US Himars would be the game changers. They are found to be inaccurate. They are flying here there and everywhere and hitting anything but its target.

TDF...as compared to about 10 million Ukranians lhaving left Ukraine when I last checked about 3 months ago. You are proving to be low on facts and high on dope, so wont bother responding any more. Talk facts, talk sense and people will take you more seriously.

BSR..Im not minded in holding POLY Rus. IMO it will deliver yields way above market on account of risks attached. Saying that, if the right offer came along, and Kremlin allowed it, Nesis and the board may take that route to de-risk and bolster shareholder value. Any sale whilst conflict is ongoing will not realise true value for POLY holders, so I feel splitting and giving all shareholders a stake in both the companies is a better way forward.

Apart from a small portion of die hards, Ukranians have been trying to dodge draft in their tends of thosuands as well. Those who were able to leave Ukraine have done so and very few have gone back. Most of the army is made up of conscripts which include over 50 year olds. And I bet the majority dont like whats coming their way cos they know theyll most certainly end up dead.

Zelensky should put Ukraine before himself and the US. One is trying to rectify his mistakes in winning back the lost land, and the other is hell bent on weakening Russia/China axis and so wants to fight Russia to the last Ukranian.

In total agreement with you Foor, only way is peace and Ukraine will be surprised with what they can achieve through diplomacy.

TDF...RazzaB is talking about Iraq...shows where your brain is located.

The move applies inside Iraq only but nevertheless important. Many countries around the globe allow use of foreign currencies to be used within its borders eg in Turkey use of euro is very common.

I can see this move copied by other countries and together impact will be material. There are examples of ditching the US$ for cross border transactions eg. Russia trades with India and other countries and most recently all Bangladesh India trade will be in their own currencies. Impact of such moves will be significant.

Result of all this will be that going forward US will be forced to balance its books and that does not bode well for its military power.

Remember, currency supremacy is a cornerstone of Americas military power. Weaker currency means weaker US military power and that is great news for the world as US stands for wars, death and destruction.

TDF...its nearly summer and no spring offensive in sight. I trully hope there isnt one coming as the side trying to break down defenses generally loses lot more men than side defending. Ive heard figure of of up to 3 to 1 death ratio. Further, no one on earth in their head trully believes Ukraine will succeed in this war even with F16s. Not so long ago everyone said Himars were a game changer and yet theyre proving to be inaccurate.

I think Ukraine will gain lot more negotiating. Russia will never ever leave Crimea but will leave Donbas on certain guarantees like autonomy within Ukraine for Donbas and no NATO in Ukraine.

POLYs debt have nearly doubled in the past 4 years during which period they have spent enormous amounts in Russia. In 2022 two thirds of all costs POLY incurred was in Russia, developing mines and infrastructure. Hence, it is reasonable to assume the Russian business will carry the lions share of debt. Consequently, it is also reasonable to assume the Russian business will deliver significantly more profits in years ahead than Kaz business as the new mines starts coming on

stream.

So far there is no spring offensive, only spring retreat.

Zelensky feels the need for a counter offensive to rectify mistakes he made before war started which ended up Ukraine losing 20% of its land. He is trying to correct his own mistakes using ordinary Ukranians as pawns. Ukraines best chance of regaining lost land is through negotiations, as he will not succeed in escalating the conflict.

Russians are well dug in with river Dnieper providing a buffer between the 2 sides and covering greater part of the so called Russia Crimea land corridoor. Whole reason Russians withdrew from large parts of Kherson and further west in Ukraine was because they found it difficult to keep troops supplied across river Dniepr. Ukraine will face the same logistical problems trying to push Russians back on the east of Dnieper towards sea of Azov.
