Assets lost or sold cheaply in Russia by companies based in the west is almost entirely due to our own sanctions. Russia have not confiscated any assets despite many provocations, but I think it will bring in laws soon where they temporarily take control of companies based in unfriendly jurisdictions. They may feel they have to do something instead of just sitting there taking it all.

ArranT...i spoke to ii about 2 weeks ago and they told me cost to issue certificate would be £42. After accepting offer from POLY, ii now will issue certificate for free to holders and claim money back from POLY.

Annie11...I spoke to POLY IR and they told me you do NOT need to be a Kaz citizen to register using Tabys, and will only be able to register after 30th May with a code provided by POLY.

ArranT...cert should not cost you anything as POLY have made an offer to all brokers in UK to cover cost of issuing certificates to POLY holders.

Is Jarvis claiming cost to issue cert from both you and POLY?

In total agreement BSR. Further, AIX has partners like NASDAQ on board. Kaz is perfectly located providing bridge between West and China, Russia and other central Asian Republics, just like Dubai linking europe with Mid east and South Asia. POLY based in Kaz will be at the front in obtaining mining licenses both in Kaz and surrounding countries which is still a relatively virgin territoy.

@Redinjun...Thanks. The article doesnt mention that as POLY Russia is sanctioned, it is risky for Polymetal Holdings in which we all have shares to continue dealing with POLY Russia, as this will most definitely lead to either fines or even sanctions at some future date. Hence current situation is simply not sustainable and only redom can enable flight to safety, without which POLY cannot split business and get on legal footing both within Russia and the west. I very much hope sh will take this into consideration when voting.

I think POLY wants to resume where they left off in 2021. I think POLY Kaz will appreciate more in value but will have lower divis, and POLY Rus will always be undervalued due to risks but will pay higher divis if political situation allows. I intend to hold onto both after the split.

Ive known nothing like what POLY wants to do and is going through and it is better than what Evraz and some other companies failed to do...but this is easily said than done. POLY have been lucky still being able to manouver 15 months into the conflict. Im hoping in about 6 months time we will look back and say it was well worth it. Once actually based in Kaz, the risk then would focus on what the Russians will do.

@chique...agreed. Nothing but panic caused by HL & Co and the talk of sanctions again havent helped situation either

Audavid1...Carltt has a habbit of shooting from the hips. Other day, he was saying on the Lloyds board alleging Lloyds was bailed out by taxpayer until I pulled him up, as exactly the reverse was the case with Lloyds...it bailed out the taxpayer by taking over HBOS. Not well informed so I would ignore.

Clearly this whole HL saga is causing a panic and this is getting reflected in the sp. People worried POLY could be Evraz mark 2, but nothing could be further from the truth. Opportunity to buy for those with spare cash.

Think you need to say to HL that it should accept POLYs offer to reimburse them with cost of issuing the certs and provide it to shareholders free of charge.

Last week, US hit Polymetal's Russian Subsidiary, JSC Polymetal with sanctions. Even though Polymetal International Holdings in which we hold shares is not included in the sanctions, it does mean POLY will have to stop dealing with its Russian business as of start date of the sanctions to stay immune from any future sanctions. This is clearly not a viable situation and hence redom is the only way forward.

No it doesnt mean 50p is coming. I repeat what Ive already said before, FXPO is trading and producing iron ore and generating enough cash to cover costs. Further it has no debt.

I have no doubt the company will survive and go onto reach heights attained previously once war ends.

Anon3...requesting certificates really should not be an issue so not sure why HL have taken such a position. Further, POLY IR told me last week they have made an offer to all brokers in UK to cover costs of all certificates issued so POLY SH should not have to bear that cost as well. IMO POLY have tried its best to accommodate SH as best they can given the situation

I asked this exact question to POLY IR back in January. They told me is such a scenario, POLY will stay listed on the LSE and try its best to navigate situations arising, hope for the best and wait for the war to end.

Remember, back in Jan Nesis did say staying listed on the LSE could prove fatal as whole of POLY could be subject to future sanctions from both sides, and this could yet happen even though POLY only got its Russia operations sanctioned last week.

IMO the plan laid out by POLY board to redom to Kaz, split the business, allocate shares in both companies to SH, then relist Kaz business on the LSE is the best way forward.

POLY is trading profitably so SH can get some divis as well, which is not possible with keeping status quo.

Which means you cannot hold within ISA, but unlike SIPP you can request cert and hold outside ISA
