During my one hour stay at Manchester airport last Monday 3 Ryanair aircraft landed. I must admit judging by the number of passengers disembarking I would say they were half full. It is a start and hopefully better times are round the corner.
News from the old folks home soap is that the Cornish clown has been given a yellow card and a seven day ban. Offence. Boring the crap out of everyone by repeating the same old garbage over and over again and usually on BB’s where he holds no shares. Hope he has not topped himself with sweet FA to do each and every day.

Just sat down in Amsterdam airport having travelled overnight from Johannesburg.
The aircraft was a 777 and 420 passengers were crammed in. Not one square inch of space. If the LCC don’t follow suite they are missing out. Social distancing is only spoken about but rarely practised.
For you Doug. The old folks home soap is really warming up. Billy is losing it and hopefully this is a signal for QZ to appear, he really winds them up.

Difficult to say what will happen tomorrow. I think there will be lots of bookings and how LCC arrange the cabin will be interesting. IAG will benefit little but will be sucked up or down depending on what happens with Rya and co. I am confident all the airlines who have survived will come good but it is going to take time.
Now Doug this is just for you. The Glen soap continues. It is set in an old folks home where dementia is rife. Godfather Ken has gone quiet but the Cornwall clown is trying his best to keep them awake. Yesterday the topic was Marmite, today who are the cheapest energy suppliers. Bless them.

Man some of these posts are mind boggling. The air bridges/corridors being banded about benefit IAG very little. Rya, Easy, Tui, Jet2, yes. Before lockdown in South Africa Two 380’s and a 747 flew in full every day of the week. A real money maker. SA will not accept any flights from UK until at least September. (Very optimistic). This is where IAG make money, not the odd route in Europe. I have managed to get a repatriation flight with KLM to Manchester 05th July and quarantine or no quarantine I will take absolutely fuk all notice.

R8. Why don’t IAG and the rest of the airlines pretend this business never happened, dispense with no employers as the unions would like and go to the wall. The airlines that survive this mess will be the ones whose BOD’s have made the tough decisions required at the time. Just for your information R8 I live in a country where 30% of the population is unemployed and no handouts are available. I use a good deal of my money to help where I can so I am afraid I will continue to be selfish.

Doug. Between the UK lockdown and quarantine on 08th June more than a million passengers from airports in Italy and Spain and elsewhere made up this number. This is when the virus was running wild. Not even a temperature check. I hopefully travel to Heathrow 03rd July from Jnb. and I will not self quarantine. Air bridges will arrive probably by the end of the month but they are 3 weeks to late in my opinion.

I have spent my working life in the aviation industry and I have done very well out of it. I am heavily invested in here, EasyJet and Rya. Running an airline is tough and the difference between relative success and dismal failure is a very fine line and a good BOD is imperative. The number of employers per aircraft has to be as low as possible. I may sound selfish but this is the opportunity to trim the employees down to a bare minimum and build up when better times come. There will be a pool of eager candidates out there. I invest in the hope the BOD do what is necessary to grow the business and hence increase the returns for investors.
I have said it before and will again Boris is an absolute joke. He has surrounded himself with clowns and doesn’t seem to have the balls to make his own decisions. This quarantine was the biggest of his continual blunders. All of course in my opinion.

I am totally baffled by this screwed up quarantine. If you refuse to give them the info required they fine you £100, is that right? Can you then walk away and be free? Again I ask what happens to the flight crew?

Here in SA local flying started yesterday and it worked a treat. Relaxation on quarantine for overseas travellers is round the corner. Quarantine has been in force since day one of lockdown not three months in as an after thought.
I think Boris would be viewed in a much better light if he was seen to make the odd decision himself instead of listening to the bunch of clowns he has surrounded himself with.

I for one will enjoy the scarcity of kids at the airport and resort.
Airlines have seen the bottom of the pit and what the situation will create is slimmer and more efficient operations. Long term hold and you won’t be disappointed. All of course in my opinion.

Just when you think think the doom merchant has gone up pops mBretty. Do you own shares here? thought not. Here in SA masks are compulsory the minute you step out of the house door and have been for almost 80 days now. Sitting on a flight for a few hours with a mask is no sweat. Kids think it is a novelty.
I think what has happened to the sp of all airlines over the last week or so has surprised everyone and long may it continue.

Today is the first day of Patel’s law. Quarantine all passengers arriving at UK airports. Only a clown would believe this will work. Should she not be sorting out the mayhem on the streets in the UK? it is madness to bring in quarantine measures whilst allowing thousands to gather on mass with no social distancing.
I ask again what happens to the crew of the aircraft landing in the UK, are they quarantined?

Man it’s boring with golf still banned here but at least the weather is perfect.
What an excellent week for those who own airline shares. I say again I believe the worst is behind us and and it makes you wonder where the the sp would be without this stupid quarantine.
Now let me keep you up to date with the hilarious soap on the Glen bb. Ken who is the godfather and main tipster on the board let it be known that he was shorting Glen and wait for it The Dow. Both had their best weeks in yonks and Ken has gone quiet. Now most of them hate shorters with a passion but never have a word to say about good old Ken. That is except a poster named QZ who has a picnic winding them up. To be continued.

The quarantine measures are without doubt the most stupid move this government has made since the pandemic hit. I am booked to land at Heathrow from Jo'burg 03rd July and if the self isolation rule still applies see if I care. I watch the protests (riots) presently on tv and no one gives a toss about social distancing etc.
I received my "welcome back" mail from BA yesterday and the measures they are taking make sense. My only concern is after embarking from an environment whose air circulation is equivalent to an operating theatre I am subjected to the unmasked general public.
Airlines have been mauled and as I've mentioned previously the only way is up.

I think a compromise has been reached that whilst the aircraft are mostly on the ground and will be until the beginning of a July this quarantine will have little effect. After three weeks I am sure air bridges will be brought in.
For the few aircraft that are flying has anyone read what happens to the aircrew? Surely having arrived in the same tube the same quarantine rules apply?

From July 01st Spain will accept non Spanish residents. The only snag is they are going to be selective. At this stage the UK will have to wait awhile until the numbers come down. I would think that when the UK government does away with the quarantine measures the Spanish will have softened their stance.
Off topic all you soap lovers get over to the Glen site and view yesterday posts. Trouble at mill. The lot of them are like old women but you have to laugh.

Boeing today restarted the 737 Max production line. Only a few a month to start with but I figure they have had the wink from the FAA that clearance is round the corner.
