Well done to long term holders here who took up their full allotment in the rights issue disregarding all the doom and gloom being spouted. I am one of those investors with big numbers here and now I am up on paper.
I am sure in a years time the new slimmed down BA will be turning a profit again.

Looking out from my pool side this morning I ponder for a little while and think how lucky can you get.
Now at this moment coming down to the island amongst others are three Ryanair aircraft. Departure airports Liverpool, Birmingham and Luton. Due to the travel restriction in the UK I imagine they are empty. There are probably a few Brits who came out here prior to lockdown who will use them to get back. It does seem a waste of money for the airline.
Now I see I am being trolled on IAG by the condescending gas meter reader. He pours out lie after lie. He has completely melted which cannot be good for his health. Now clown I have your email address and I will drop you a mail so we need not carry on this nonsense any longer.

I like a bit of sparring so I checked a couple of your posts on the geriatric site Glen. Let’s paint the picture. Greggs on Friday announced they would be laying off 800 workers. Now these will be guys working for minimum wage, will probably never have another job and to keep their head above water their wage was probably vital to their household. Now your concern is not with these poor souls but the fact you may lose a couple of quid when the market reacts to this. Pathetic.

buff. South Africa is very important to BA. prior to Covid two 380’s and and a 747 made the journey every day. The aircraft were generally pretty full. Now to gain entry a negative test cert. carried out within 72 hours of arrival has to be produced. If not quarantine for two weeks at your own expense. I will go in January.

This morning I read a post from delgrano relating to the merits of buying as opposed to leasing aircraft. It has gone but I will answer. The most expensive aspect of owning an aircraft is the MRO. Admittedly in the last 20 years due to damage tolerant design and use of more resilient materials service intervals have been stretched. This being the case the cost has been reduced in the life of the aircraft. This being said it is still a big number. Leasing an aircraft takes this into account and for some operators it is the way to go. Second hand aircraft at present are 10 a penny and unless the operators do what O’Leary does and keeps new aircraft for a short time they are worth little more than the scrap value. The large volume operators tend to split their fleet between lease and buy.
Now gas meter reader I may be a D!ck but a condescending one, I think not.

belgrano. Wrong. EasyJet own more aircraft than they lease. In fact only last month they sold some of their owned aircraft to a leasing company and immediately leased them back. Most of the aircraft in the worlds airline fleets are leased. It is still debatable which carries the advantage.

In airline shares and pretty obviously well down. Fortunately my portfolio is pretty diverse and has been very resilient. I am in fact ahead of where I was prior to Covid. I will not be touching my holdings in airlines and don’t have to for many years. They will return.
Now the only part of the post that the two faced Cornwall clown got right was how abusive I have been on the other side. Now this is the clown who once bragged he had filtered in excess of 60 posters and is very familiar with the report button. Two faced and pathetic. Posts will be gone by the morning.

Berni. I agree that battery power has a future in powering smaller aircraft but not large aircraft. As you will be aware with a conventional powered aircraft the TOW is considerably more than the LW. Even in an emergency fuel will be dumped to accomplish this. Now with batteries as the power source the TOW = LW as the battery mass is the same. This means the aircraft’s structure will have to be beefed up to handle the larger landing loads . Now mass is an aircraft’s designers scourge as more mass equates to fewer passengers. I agree all this won’t happen tomorrow but great strides are being made. In my opinion Hydrogen will eventually power the larger aircraft.
Now as an outsider looking in I will comment on the farce of the lockdown in the UK. I have experienced two lockdowns in SA and the tail end in Tenerife. Real lockdowns that made a difference. How can garden centres, hardware stores etc be classed as essential. Any workman can come to the house having worked in many more previously and that is fine. The government is ball less and all they really want to do is punish the hospitality sector. All this will lead to a further lockdown and so on.

Berni. You are half right. The tanks will have to be strong but with the materials being used not heavy. I am involved presently in the conversion of a twin prop18 seater aircraft to hydrogen power. The prototype will be flying in two years time and the conversion will be available to operators within four years. Obviously the larger the aircraft the more complex it gets but it is upon us.

Was a good day for Ryanair as far as flights to Tfs. were concerned. I bumped into quite a few who escaped the lockdown and paid a hefty fee to travel over yesterday. Now except for a very few holiday makers who need to return to wherever in the next week or so there will be very few flights coming down here and most who traveled recently won’t be going back this year.
Now am I the only one who can’t believe the two faced Cornwall clown cannot resist posting with a different name every day (blindhamster today) with the knowledge they will be gone by the morning. It takes a special kind of thicko to do this.

The decisions made regarding aircraft and staff numbers will enable IAG to come out of this mess on a good footing.

There is one blessing on Rya he works in tandem with an equal lowlife who has been labelled a condescending pr??k and the comment received so many tick ups a record was in sight before it was removed.
