I will give the fishing a rest today it is too easy so let’s discuss aviation.
Aircraft as we know them today will be the tail end of oil powered engines. Airbus and Boeing in the main have been and will be racing against each other to produce passenger aircraft powered by hydrogen by the year 2035. They both hope by then they will have a 737/320 size aircraft flying. It is a tall order and aircraft design will have to accommodate fuel tanks with a capacity of four times the present ones. This will probably mean storage in the fuselage behind the passengers making fo much longer aircraft. A range of approx 2000 nautical miles will be the aim for the turbo fan aircraft. Obviously long haul aircraft will take a good deal longer to develop.
Some aircraft companies producing small vehicles are well advanced and a nitrogen powered aircraft had its maiden flight only the other day. I myself are involved with a company doing a retrofit on a prop aircraft to enable it to carry underwing pods filled with nitrogen as the power source.
What is the impact with aircraft carriers? Obviously when this technology comes to fruition a gradually fazing out of oil powered aircraft will take place and for companies like Rya who don’t hang on to their aircraft for 30 years plus it should not be a problem. The disposing of second hand aircraft will become troublesome the nearer to 2035 it is. Once nitrogen powered aircraft are operating there will be an almighty push from the “green” brigade to get rid of the oil powered vehicles. Incidentally the same power source will become common in road vehicles. Obviously the $100. a barrel price will never be seen again.

Now just for you two Cornwall clowns I will give you a bit of Boeing news I am in possession of. They have fallen foul again of the FAA. They appear to have gone against a FAA directive given 5 years ago regarding the shimming in the region of the centre fuselage on the 787. Now Boeing’s quality control procedures are under scrutiny at a time when the relationship between Boeing and the FAA is at rock bottom. Impact on Max certification, more than likely.
Now the topic of the geriatrics weekend jaunt. King Ken from the Glen soap has fixed up for the guys to spend Sunday and Monday evening away so they can bond. Now Ken has gone quiet so is it still on? Most of them suffer from forgetfulness so very unlikely. Doubt the two clowns will appear anyhow, one hasn’t got two pennies to rub together and who is going to read the gas meters Monday morning if the other one goes. Steve. I am going to give you my opinion. it's your money at the end of the day and you make your own decision. As you have indicated you are not a trader but an investor. Well invest and steer clear of making your choice of shares. The airlines and associated businesses will not be back to pre virus levels if ever until 2024.
I have a bunch in IAG Easy and Ryanair but it is money I don't need.
Now let me tell you what I mean by invest. 5+ years ago I was on one of my regular trips from SA to the UK with BA. I read the Highlife mag. now and then and for some reason paged through it. I came across an ad. for Terry Smiths investment company Fundsmith. At the time I had a bunch of serious money available and went in with both feet. What a winner. Two years ago He launched another investment called Smithson and in I went again and it has turned out to be an even bigger winner. I am set for life thanks to the BA mag. I need not work but have a job in the Aviation business which I love doing and can turn it on or off at will.
Now this is the direction you should be going if you want an investment.
Now finally a tip. Take notice of the two faced Cornwall clown at your peril. He is the one who informed everyone on the Flybe bb that the BOD would not take a penny less than 60p per share for the takeover. Wrong they took 1p.

Well thanks to Mr Ryanair I am sat here overlooking my “blue” pool and out to sea. The sun has another hour to run and it is a balmy 28 degrees. My place is between Puerto de Santiago and Los Gigantes in a small area called Crab Island. It has the best climate in the world with all year eternal Spring. It is quiet at the best of times but more so now. I will park here for the rest of the year and hopefully in the new year SA will open up. I must admit travelling on an aircraft with only 80 passengers is an improvement. Understanding the cabin crew is hard work.

Sat on my balcony overlooking my green pool. 28 degrees and that ****ty weather is a distant memory. Ryanair from Manchester took off on time, 85 passengers, landed early and no complaints.

The aviation sector has taken the biggest battering due to the virus. The likes of Boeing and Airbus industries will be forever changed. The supply chain to these major companies has been decimated and will also have to adapt. The loss of jobs at BA is peanuts compared to the industry as a whole.
The complete aviation sector will have to become lean and mean and any muscle tha workers had prior to the virus has gone forever. Every position from pilots to sweepers will have someone in the wings ready to jump in.
BA will rise from the ashes and will eventually prosper but not tomorrow.

Well just had word my flight to the Canaries on Sunday with Rya is good to go and I can't wait. It looks pretty empty and I had almost the whole aircraft available for seat selection. No return booked as I will probably be there for the rest of the year and as soon as SA opens up off I pop. I see the two faced Cornwall clown has had a small meltdown. Don't worry Bluebell if talking ****e was a university subject he would have had a doctorate years ago.

The Max8 will not be flying in Ryanair colours this year. Unfortunately the US FAA have blotted their copy book due to the original lax clearance of the aircraft and when they do rubber stamp it the UK FAA will give it a thorough going over. Ryanair have a different configuration to the bog standard aircraft with an extra escape door due to the increased capacity. Now some may say the delay is beneficial to Ryanair as payment for the aircraft will be delayed. There is one major problem. No doubt many of the dash 800's where scheduled to be replaced and this was more than likely prior to C and D checks having to be performed. Now these aircraft will have to be serviced and these checks are very expensive. A bit of some you win some you lose.
Now Doug I only agree with you on the odd occasion but your comments regarding the two faced Cornwall clown are spot on. He prays every night that he will wake up and read that one of the other carriers has gone tits up.

Can someone explain what crackpot gets up in a morning and decides he or she has nothing better to do than log onto LSE and construct a post for a bb where no shares are held. It is a pity there is no mechanism that filters crackpots.

I am of the opinion that the airlines that survive the chaos caused by the epidemic will have better times ahead.
It is going to be a long road back and I agree that the passenger numbers seen in 2019 will only be reached in 2024. The one posititive to come out of this sorry mess is that airlines have been forced into becoming leaner and meaner and the days of personnel striking is a thing of the past. As business picks up there will be no shortage of employees to choose from. It has also meant airlines have rethought what aircraft are required to do the job and from now on will carry little surplus.
Lastly is it only me that gets ****ed of reading the often repeated ramblings of the two faced Cornwall clown. Having Rya constantly rammed down our throats on BB's he is not invested in.

Let me tell you about quarantine. I travelled from the States to Johannesburg a couple of months ago and was immediately quarantined at Jnb. This meant being bused to a selected hotel and not allowed to leave for 14 days. All paid for by the S.A. government. Now the UK’s quarantine. I arrived from S.A. (red zone) into Manchester 3 weeks ago. I was directed to a room where 5 border officers were sitting. An online form was completed and logged. I asked the officer why was the form required. His answer was simple. If a case comes to light from a passenger on the flight I could be traced. No mention of quarantine and knocks on the door.
For Fuc££ sake how the hell can they check on thousands and thousands of travellers.
I am due to fly to the Canaries 4 weeks today and if the airline flys I will not give it a second thought.

Man if this weather doesn’t encourage people to book overseas flights nothing will.
I leave these shores (Ryanair) 23rd August and will stay there until hopefullY SA is quarantine free by early 2021. They are not cheap but I couldn’t care less.

Check the late trades, man only a clown would buy and sell a single or two shares. It couldn’t be could it?

Just a follow up on my arrival into Manchester last Monday.
I came from a “red” zone (South Africa) and on arrival shepherded to a table behind which were seated 4 to 5 border officers. There is an online form to be completed by red zone arrivals. I asked the guy what was the purpose of the form filling. He replied that it was purely for tracing should someone on the flight test positive. Nothing at all about self quarantine. No temperature checks or present health questions. What all the fuss is about I really don’t know.
