Why don't you check the sp on 31st July last year when RI was announced, and then the highs and lows of the next month before 9th September.
You're trying to scare people into selling, spreading fear, whereas the likelihood based on last years reaction will be there will be ample opportunity for people to sell or load up before it goes x rights.
You sound like a gambler that's bet on the outsider and are talking it up to all your fellow punters in the bookies, because you want it to be 99 tomorrow or ASAP.

Well yeah actually because it could be seen as a positive move going forward, not a desperate measure to raise cash or the company's doomed.

Article today suggests equity raising possibly timed at same time as any announcement on reopening us border.
They suggest it will be used to slash debt in order to restore investment grade credit rating.
They suggest doing it in conjunction with the reopening would be beneficial with a favourable operating background.

So what will this mean for sp until its announced?

The onlyvthing this week that could disrupt CINE is when Boris lays out his plans to tackle covid in Autumn / Winter, anything worrying is likely to be picked up by Algos.

The only reason I can think that Biden won't open up is that you can still transmit the virus even being double immunised, and so many yanks are not getting jabbed.
But I think he is being hypocritical by allowing them to come here and then back again.
Are we going to have a steadying of the ship tomorrow because of the pcr test change?

I'm no chartist whatsoever, just have brief understanding. Don't understand your candlesticks tea cups plates and saucers, but I do know that the sp 145 is below the 200 sma, therefore a sell according to the people I've been talking to.
I guess that's only relevant if you're looking for the lowest entry point before the sp climbs higher than the 200 sma and becomes a buy.
But if you're just holding its irrelevant.
Plus, it's all irrelevant if there is the big RI that some are expecting.
In the Times today it said some brokers feel its a positive for Easyjet.

I know this is IAG but CINE is a bloody noose round my neck at the moment.

Can just see court case out the way, bond all good, then Boris brings back masks and social restrictions in October!!

Anyway, my portfolio in total has reduced by about 28k since wall street opened on Tuesday, just hope next week is better.
Someone on the NEX board is saying when the SP is below 200 SMA , it's time to sell, and buy when above.
But all of mine except m & s and CPI are currently below. Happy days.

You sound more or less on my level of investing, so the moral of today's story is:
Always have some spare powder in reserve for any situation.
Listen old timers like paddyboy and big blue, and don't get sucked into shorter Fugazis scare tactics.
And if you can hold long term ( year plus) all should be fine !!!

So you're essentially reducing your average if you paid more than rights price, and then hoping the company / sp recovers overvtime

You can sell your rights too, and the only way you ended up with a diluted holding is by doing nothing, right?

And what's the real problem with a RI unless of course BA our national carrier is going to go bust?
We end up with shares at a bargain price which will recover as travel recovers over time, or you sell your rights ( sometimes for good money) to cover your diluted holding and then the price recovers over time ( look how it recovered from November through March after the last RI), or you do nothing and end up with a diluted holding.
Or you sell now at a loss.
Imo it's scaremongering by a broker following Easyjet, possibly on a shorters payroll!!!
When you read the HL analysis of the update on 30th July they state that in their view the company is not in danger of a crash crunch anytime soon.
Anyway who knows really, what do I know, only what I read !!!

This latest statement was only 6 weeks ago, come on really, are you all suggesting things have changed dramatically in six weeks?

Your comments are only really relevant if you plan / need to sell or are trading ( looking for a good entry point to then hold long term)
If you are already invested and have no need to sell for at least a year what does it matter?

The only thing I would say that if you look at the 6 month chart for IAG, NEX, MCRO, NTWK, CINE, ITV, lloyds, they have all been on a downward trend, that doesn't mean they are all doomed. I have used those as examples because sadly for me I hold all of those.
I do hold some that have broken that down trend eg cpi and m&s but only because of better than expected updates.
So what to do, get off the one I think may end up in admin before it's too late, get off all of them, or just hold and hope.

That's my problem, I average down too early then run out of powder!!
So have ended up with fairly large holdings in a few companies right now. I've added tranches in NEX 3 times in the last week, in 250s, 240s and now 230s, and still they drop. This is my inexperience.
Cine does worry me a bit, probably more than IAG at this stage, just can't see how a company can report access to liquidity of 10 billion plus 6 weeks ago to need a rights issue now.
Cine is heavily shorted, but hopefully bond will turn the tide.
It's good to have a thread going finally where people talk openly and honestly about their situation, as sunsurfer did too, good or bad because it does offer some ease and comfort to those really worried about seeing 5 figure losses on paper, and that they're not in it alone.
Also this latest down trend that started from the Delta variant in March will reverse soon.
Does everyone recall what happened after the first vaccine was announced in November, the markets rose significantly all the way through December, January lockdowns until the Indian variant changed sentiment.
A catalyst will come soon imo.
