MH, I am pretty sure I heard that their expectations are for ‘multiples’ of the option price, not a few pence. From that I took it to be 30p+
That’s the price Bertie. I am sure if they had all been happy with half the amount, Shaun would have signed them up for that.
Excellent points Bamps.
So Bertie would you rather have Mark Barnaba on 750k pa than having a load of otm options?
SD wouldn’t and nor would I.
Bertie, why do you care what the Chairman is making? Concentrate on what it does for your investment instead.
Yesterdays comments suggest it was ‘bring your village idiot to work day’. So many factual errors…
Tel, I am firmly offered 3bn shares at 50p, maybe 45p. :-)
Afternoon TT. With Newmonts results due on that day, together with an unscheduled webcast and conference call from Newcrest, I wouldn’t be surprised if the deal isn’t announced on Thursday.
That would be a game changer if my hopes and expectations are realised post the deal.
Slug, I hope that you have completed your application for the Portuguese golden visa, cos I read over the weekend that they had closed it.
I like Rob. Talks in plain English and as you say, puts his money where his mouth is. Probably just a misspeak. Michelle did her best to correct him without embarrassing him. Him, Rock Rule, and Pierre are probably the best in NA.
Morning Spades. Its a bit of a worry that Rob cant do some basic maths (his initial silver projection basis the ratio). He is obviously a bit of a superstar in the mining space. I wonder what his skill set is? Not sure Rishi would be impressed with his maths.
Very sorry to hear your news Dip, my deepest sympathy. We will look after Ggp for you in your absence! Take care.
James, saying that 88p value with a consolidation isn’t much use to anyone if you don’t say what the consolidation rate is. But maybe your post is mainly malevolent rather than educational?
James, no I wouldn’t. I am not expecting a bid from anyone in the short to medium term. Of course one could come from NM but I think they will more likely be a seller than a buyer of Havieron/Telfer.
With NC it was always different. A badly managed company at the top, whether that be the bully SB, or the totally out of her depth Sherry Duhe or a board who were/are totally disinterested. Alistair Clayton summed them up very well recently.
I expect (and maybe understood) that NC was being shopped around every major gold miner in the world when their sp got into the low teens.
There will be a few glasses raised in Subiaco when NC finally disappears.
MH01, I dont think it was that unexpected at all.
i think you two had better name all your mates, as one of them might just be the other one! Will we be invited to the reunion?
My guess is we don’t have an extradition treaty with Monaco….
Hopefully he lost a load of money with Richmond RFC….
Addicknt, I used to deal with Charlie Vincent when he was at a previous company. It didnt end well. He has a lot of history. Not all rogues at Winchester. I had a lot of time for Chris Smith. Not in touch with them anymore. Thankfully.
Monty, I would be interested to know what you think of Alistair Macleod? I have always thought his views have made a lot of sense and well explained in his weekly GoldMoney newsletter. He is VERY bearish the dollar. Tweets often and interviewed regularly.
Somewhat different to Andrew Maguire who, because he mangles his English so much and talks in riddles, is very difficult to understand.
Apologies to addicknt and the Colonel for the late reply. Lost internet till now.
No, colonel I haven’t seen an asset like Alpala, but if Solgold was to be taken over for say 80-100p, I just think the stock wouldn’t have gone to 13 and would be trading at at least 40p by now. But it isn’t. If it does in the next few weeks then we know something is going on, but the max I think would be up to double the sp at the time. I still have a load of these shares, so I hope that you are right and I am wrong.
Addicknt, I know we have discussed the quality of various assets privately, so you know my opinion on that. Given that Solgold is for sale, I don’t think we can compare the relative merits of the two companies. Ggp isn’t for sale, though it may get sold at some stage. Ggp will grow steadily as it has been doing and Solgold has retired its drilling campaign to focus on the exit.
A more interesting discussion might be whether large corporate holders will get a higher price than a company with a mainly PI investor base?
As for the colonels analysis of Ggp, the less said the better. Hopelessly clueless. I will leave it at that.
Sadly for us investors 1981 is a lot more right than wrong. Initial bids are rarely multiples of the current sp. I think it has happened a few times in tech stocks and occasionally where the founder is still the dominant shareholder. I can’t recall it ever happening to a mining stock. 30-50p is probably where this will be taken out.
I do think it would be fun if Bob told the Chinese that if they buy in the market and get to 29.99%, he will recommend the deal at the highest price they pay. It won’t happen but would be fun to see what that price would be. Probably less than 50p would be my guess.
Thank you.
