Many years ago I know that Lundin had a look at Solgold. At that time they said no thanks, far too complicated a deposit (not sure they liked NM either). Since TAM and higher prices (and a massive amount of cashflow for the Lundins) that may have changed. My contact is no longer in the loop.

I just wish there was some independent corroboration of the value of the tungsten deposit. Until there is I will just think it’s better to have than not have but adds v little to any Nav calculations I make.

I agree Bamps. As I said to someone else a moment ago, I have yet to hear from anyone who can do a proper calculation of the value of tungsten in the ground. About 40 years ago I traded minor metals as part of a bigger role, and I cant recall how it was priced or valued!

Roughly a year ago I was discussing this with Shaun and neither of us could find a reference price we could understand, so I think its unlikely anyone on here has a definitive answer either.

What about the opex? Cobre Panama was operating at ~$16/t milled in 2023 dollars on ~76mt milled. But these guys reckon they can do it for $9/t milled on ~60mt milled… in 2026 dollars 🤔🤔

You make two changes to this study...

1. Opex from $9/t ore milled to $16/t ore milled to match Cobre Panama's 2023 actual opex (first decile costs).. thats $420m pa hit to opex per yr or likely $3bn NPV

2. Capex from $60/t ore ($3.7bn) to $75/t ore ($4.5bn) to match CP's ~$7.5bn to do 100mtpa done in 2018 dollars.. (first decile greenfield capital intensity)..

Combined it likely brings NPV from ~$5bn to ~$1bn on $4bn+ capital outlay (at $4.50/lb copper)... I'm not saying the technical report is wrong.. and there's some clear technical advantages of this project... but 🤔🤔🤔🤔.. these greenfield projects need higher #copper to make sense IMO..

Colonel, respeculator on X is questioning a lot of the Solaris calculations. You might want to have a look.

Stories circulating that FM wont be bringing Grasberg back next year and the problems are much bigger than first thought. Of course this has led to more bullish views of cu price.

Talking of assay results. anyone notice that Lundin reported best porphery grades after recent drilling near FdN.

The counter bidder, if there was one would be Wyloo. But just a question of whether they are an investor or a trader. IMO!
