Wow, they are very big buys and make a number of interesting points.
First if results are posted at the end of Sept as mentioned then they have done these buys a few days before the 6 week closed period to cover the rules.
Second to cover these high costs with their own money they must be pretty sure they are going to sell AA for at least 60p+ to make it worth while arranging all the money to buy the shares. I bet we get an rns tomorrow with these share buys on and that has let the cat out of the bag and we could see the sp going up to 60p ish fast.
It looks like there is no way the bod's are going to let this deal fall through and let them make some good money out of it.

we were going to get this week was also a pre-closing statement for the year and if it is anything like others it will be almost spot on.
Anyway I would imagine that all the bidders would have now all got that pre-close info and their accountants etc will be going through the numbers over what maybe a week, so it could be next week sometime we here any news.
But like normal I guess it will be sky news that comes out with something first after all they are normally first with their inside / great reporters.

But it does say this

Our recently upgraded expectations for FY20/21 remain unchanged."

It's more likely that we will get an rsn saying i or more bidders have made an offer which the board and shareholders will need to consider and you would normally get 1-2 weeks to do that.
It is most unlikely that we will get an rsn saying all bidders have decided not to go futher with any offer, after all they all know how much debt there is and how much profit AA is making.

Under the rules the bidders have until 1st Sept to make a full bid or walk away and the results are due end of Sept, so we have what about 2 1/2 weeks max to know.

Just topped up with another 20,000 to bring down my ave. let's hope that was the correct thing to do.

Yes I think nerves are starting to play their part, many thought there would be some sort of bid made this week and the longer we go without a bid many will just take any profits they have to play safe just in case it all goes wrong and the sp goes back to 25p ish.
It's a case of hold the line and keep your powder dry.

Wrong I haven't sold yet I am in here far higher than 40p so why would I sell for a loss.
Like many I would like this to go much higher but wouldn't be surprised by some tricks and a bad deal of 40p cash and more shares to cover debt etc.

Many have made their profits up to 39-40p and may now realize that maybe 40p is going to be the maximum. There is no G/Tee that it will go more than 40p and infact could sell for say 38p-39p plus new shares to cove debt. Always a risk now to see what's going to happen.

Well done a great email, now what's the betting on a) getting a reply and b) thank you for your email and we are aware of the market but as you know we cannot make any comments that would be eagainst the rules etc etc.

Because the best cash bid might still be 40p max plus their plans to issue more shares and pay down debt, when many are hoping for a much higer cash offer of 50p-60p+ and that might never happen.

May not be about who offers the best cash sp deal but what company is prepared to offer more investment to pay off debt.
So the maximum cash bid could still be 40p as mentioned but just how many new shares and investment to pay off debt, which may not help many short term investors here hoping to make a quick buck.

It is of cause possible for any number of companies to say and put in bids for another company if they think they can buy them on the cheap.
OK AA has by accounts had 3/4 companies saying they want to buy AA but 40p may be the maximume they want to pay and the AA bod's might and could well say sorry 60p- 80p is the lowest they would consider and all bidders might withdraw any interest. Nothing is G/Teed here.

Come on let's first get back to 64p

Yet as there are NO confirmed bids in and the company will not come out and tell us they have opened the books yet to any bidders. How / when can we expect any firm bids without them first seeing the books.Maybe the bod's are more interested in doing their own thing with raising more money.

Yes I thought we started to turn the corner today when the sp was up at about 64p ish, but never mind it will come.

I don't think the bod's should sell for under £1.50 if they can work this out for themselves unless it's a hostile bid then bring it on, but all this nicey nicey in talks about what could be shows weak management without a long term aim.
If bidders want to see the books now then let them and then put a time on it. I know they have given the 3 bidders until 1sept but why hasn't the bod's told the shareholders they have opened the books to the bidders if they have. All too iffy & nicey nicey for me.

I don't think any bid under £1.50 should even be looked at, the sp was much higher a year ago even with all the debt and the company is now in a much better position than then so should not sell at all, and work our way out of this.

I am not saying don't do this or that, one must do want to feel.
We all know things never turn out 100% as expected don't we. Life is a gamble and we all do it all the time.

Because there is NOT yet any bid of 40p and may never happen so everyone is playing a safe ish.
