I guess he knows he cannot lose in the long run say 6-12 months if he buys in at 30p-40p, then how long would it be to make a full takeover bid .

So what will the sp open on Tuesday, I guess it all depends on any rns and an agreed price for his 20% but many will try to buy in quick on the hope it will rise more in the day.

rupans, thanks for that info I haven't seen them as I am just going by what I have read in the Mail so far. If that is correct then I feel a bit better.

Deal is in the Mail today , yest it says 20% stake for the old boss and £50m via other shareholders but nothing about any price.
Surely this will just be a dilution of shares and and they could be at less than the current price maybe 10p ish. Until we get an rns on Tuesday we won't know will we. But it would be great if some on here are correct and the sp goes up. my avr is 50p still so any boost would help.

Why would any company sell out for less than the current share price when they are making good profits and have finance cover for another year and bond cover for another 3-5 years. . Come on. !!!!!!!

The bod's already know more or less what's going on with the results as they have already done the pre close numbers and they were going to come out about 2 weeks ago and have been delayed until end Sept. You have to think the bidders would have seen all these by now.
Now that could either push up the bid price as it would make them know just how good the profit is going to be or how bad in which case a lower bid.

Mariog, so in your view then do you think the bod's are just sitting on any pentential bidder that has pulled out but will not let the shareholders or onther bidders know that until after the deadline as it may alter the other bidders price etc.
A bit far fetched don't you think. In many other potential bidders of companies that have set deadlines, those directors have informed the shareholders the moment a potential bidder pulls out. Surely the same would happen with AA. No all the bidders must have lodged their bids by now or within the next few days. The less we here the higher the number of bids and maybe the higher the price.

OK only a few days now before the deadline, and one thing is for certain and that is if anyone has pulled out of the running because they think AA. is a bad bet then we would have been told by now.
No one waits until the last day /days before they make their minds up if they are pulling out their accountants would have already worked out the numbers, so it looks like some / all are could still be interested and may have lodged their plans and price. Who knows if their take over prices / plans will be enough for tthe bod's is down to them and we will find out next week.
But over the last few days there have been some very big buys from buyers thinking all is still on plan. What we do know is no one is going to offer 30p- 35p because the normal share price wasn't far off that a few weeks ago, so it's still got to be 45p- 60p in my view.

After seeing those after hrs big buys of 2.5m and 350,000 ish I think they have just been dropping the sp to aquire stock. So there are still buyers thinking a deal could still be done at 40p+Feel much better now.

Nerves now showing as pi's think maybe some are pulling out as no news yet of confirmed bid/ interest.
Who is controling the sp as there must be mopre demand for shares.

So far more shares bought than sold and the sp ia going down, does someone know that little bit of news or leak?

No company is too big to go bust and the way RR is going who knows what's going to happen over the next 6 months with high debt and new placing required.
Remember RR went bust many years ago when they were developing the trent engine and had to be bailed out by the government before being sold / listed on the stock market again.

Benn following these for a while now and after the rns it's just a question of how low will this go and what will the placing or rights issue price be. Many have mentioned they need to raise anything up to £1.5b so they may need £1.50 - £1.75 placing price to get it away, now that could mean we are looking at about the same sp very soon.

In the Mail today they are talking about ITV going out and PFD coming in, but that doesn't make any sense as ITV has MC of £2,356m and PFD only has a MC of £747m.
So why would they drop out ITV for PFD ?

OK so it looks like ITV is about ot go out of the 100, but they do have until wednesday as the final day to improve as I understand it.
We all know about some of the negatives of being out pensions etc, but are there any benefits of not being in the 100 because ITV haven't really done much or put out many rns's to improve the sp have they. Maybe they just don't care about it.

Nice buy of 500,000 at 35p ish last night, someone is still buying who thinks the sp will still go back up.
