Marcus, so you think the sp will hit £15 next year then as comfort to any long term holders that put £20k into say 20,000 shares.
And that's not me but I have been involved in about 10 company consolidations where all share holders have lost out big time.

Carnival PLC on Thursday said unit Costa Cruises SpA will gradually increase the number of ships that will resume operations, following the restart of Costa Deliziosa and Costa Diadema in September.

I think if it wasn't for the consolidation many would be buying now but won't.
Let's for a moment take a long term holder who bought say 20,000 at a £1 so £20k in total, with this deal the sp could work it's way back in a year say and they wouldn't lose much if anything.
Now take the consolidation 20000 by 15 = 1333 shares at 15p = £2.250 So even if the company does very very well can you expect the sp to go up to £15 NO Chance.
But all the new comers and Sir Roger now that's a different matter.

I cannot see any auction taking place. All bidders have the option of putting in a bid should they wish to do so and the company with it's advisers will consider the best for all concerned and then announce the results.
They might be in contact with each bidder and surgest they have had a certain offer price to see if they can get any improvement offer, but they are as such in a closed auction now if they want to put bids in if they haven't already.

Good god you make us all laugh. you don't have all the facts but think the company will survive.
Let's be honest here you don't have a clue what's going to happen like the rest of us , but one thing is for certain the company will survive and be in good shape in 6-12 months.
OK most of the long term shareholders have been shafted and will probably never see their full
invested money return but the big shareholders and Sir Roger will.
Just stop trying to give the impression you know what your doing and what's going to happen, you don't your just a pi like most of us.

Funny old movement on the sp today, it's almost like there was news coming out to say all the bidders have pulled out , but then again they haven't and a deal is coming out very soon.
It's also good news to see that many of the large investors haven't sold their holding and if anything have increased a little. Must get some news soon.

I can understand the fund raise etc but why do many of these companies think that just by having a consolidation it fixes everything, it doesn't you can still have double the shares on issue it's all about the value.
The truth is by doing this they almost wipe out all the pi's in terms of % and they just want large investors. It just reminds me of when your waiting on the phone and they keep saying you are important and value you but you still get shafted.

Yes so do I but that doesn't help any long term holders.

OK I have re read again now and it's a done deal , already pre arranged and closed by 5.pm to stop anyone buying up more shares today and hoping to take advantage.
I knew it would already be a done deal and pre arranged as they do these things. Still don't like the consolidation unless the sp goes to £5.

Many companies do this , they raise money and have a consolidation which pushes the sp up and it all looks great so they think they have done a good job.
But we all know that just by having a consolidation and this one at x15 we all know the share price will settle down well below that so we all lose out again.
Also what's this waiting until the bookbuild is out of the way beforetelling everyone what the next price will be and as yet no cut off date or did I miss that bit.

So we wont know more until after today by the look of things.
I don't like any consolidations you always lose out.

a Second Firm Placing of New Shares to Sir Roger De Haan at a price per New Share to be determined following completion of the Bookbuild. The Second Firm Placing is designed to replicate the entitlement Sir Roger De Haan would have had to participate in the Open Offer if the New Shares issued pursuant to the First Firm Placing had Sir Roger De Haan been on the Register on the Record Date;

· a Placing and Open Offer of New Shares at a price per New Share to be determined following completion of the Bookbuild (subject to a maximum issue price of 15 pence per New Share). The Second Firm Placing and the Placing and Open Offer are expected to raise gross proceeds of approximately £89.4 million in aggregate; and

· a share consolidation, pursuant to which every 15 Ordinary Shares of 1 pence nominal value will be consolidated into 1 Consolidated Share of 15 pence nominal value (the "Consolidation"), which is expected to become effective on 12 October 2020.

I don't think he's worried, he's got millions more and it's not getting any real interest in the banks
so why not put in into a business he knows and likes and where he can probably double his money and I bet he has children who it would be passed on to.
Marcus, don't worry you will double your money in a few months after the debt is paid down.

I don't think the bod's care about todays or this weeks share price, this deal like many when companies have a pre - arranged placing is all done and dusted by the big share holders and the city.
OK they will also offer a number of share as an open offer but that's just to keep all the small shareholders happy and let them think they are important. They won't change the offer price it's already done.

Extension of deadline under Rule 2.6(c) of the Code



On 4 August 2020, AA announced that three parties, being (i) Centerbridge Partners Europe, LLP and TowerBrook Capital Partners (U.K.) LLP (acting jointly), (ii) Platinum Equity Advisors LLC and (iii) Warburg Pincus International LLC (each a "Potential Offeror"), had approached the Company regarding possible cash offers for the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of AA.



In accordance with Rule 2.6(a) of the Code, each of the Potential Offerors was required, by no later than 5.00 p.m. (London time) on 1 September 2020, to either announce a firm intention to make an offer for AA in accordance with Rule 2.7 of the Code or announce that it did not intend to make an offer, in which case the announcement would have been treated as a statement to which Rule 2.8 of the Code applied.



Discussions with each of the Potential Offerors have continued to progress and their due diligence is on-going. As a consequence, and in accordance with Rule 2.6(c) of the Code, the Board of AA requested that the Panel extend the deadline referred to above. Accordingly, an extension has been granted by the Panel and each of the Potential Offerors must, by no later than 5.00 p.m. (London time) on 29 September 2020, either announce a firm intention to make an offer in accordance with Rule 2.7 of the Code or announce that it does not intend to make an offer, in which case the announcement will be treated as a statement to which Rule 2.8 of the Code applies. This deadline will only be extended further with the consent of the Panel, in accordance with Rule 2.6(c) of the Code.



There can be no certainty that any offer will be made for the Company, nor as to the terms on which any offer might be made. A further announcement will be made as appropriate.



This announcement is being made with the agreement of AA and each of the Potential Offerors.

I think that could be the plan, he has said that he will buy up many more shares, so 20% + he could end up with his family owning 25% no trouble then it might be just a question of time before he bids for the lot at what 35p+

Yes if true but things are NOT always done to / for the benefit of the shareholders, directors have to try to keep their jobs if they are being paid millions.

Every man and his dog is waiting to buy in here under 15p regardless of being offered any rights.
I guess I should also say women and their dogs so I don't get into any trouble.
