sugar-coated regrets of hindsight6 Mar 2014 08:59
In my first few months of investing two and a bit years ago, i bought 1,000 AV shares at 299p and watched them rise, then plunge and them slowly but steadily work their way upwards. I thought I was quite happy to wait for the share price to rise to older historic levels and collect dividends along the way. Gave a fair bit of credence to some analysis and views from posters like GS and noted the franker tone of the RNS under the new CEO. Didn't risk more than the £3k though, putting additional monies into the likes CLLN, CINE, FUM, GSK. Happy to see patience rewarded with return on that initial investment now over 100% but if only I had placed additional monies in as the transformation and revised view of Aviva by the market was taking place. Think I had Howard Mark's views on risk management from 'The Most Important Thing' in the back of my mind and that constrained me somewhat as it does will putting more money than I have in QPP. Thing this has a way to run yet and I like the fact that the CEO says the same from a critical perspective
