I can’t help but think there will be cost overruns on building the large batteries, there seem to be cost rises everywhere at present, but their index linked earnings are increasingly valuable.

The deal with Dai-ichi for enhertu seems to have been an inspired decision. At the time investing $6bn (if my memory is correct) seemed like a Huge gamble.

To a certain extent, JPM is bringing its views up to date….it does seem AZN will go from strength to strength. I am certainly going to hold on and add gradually.

But with Shanghai in lockdown, it seems any thought of the factory inspection happening any time soon is fanciful.
HCM a needs to get that bad news out of the way…..better to set a new Target date with the FDA if the FDA can’t grant approval subject to a future inspection, existing facilities are being reinspected later than planned…but they have a licence.
Presumably EMA is just a clinical decision not needing a factory inspection??

What Pru needs is China to give up on zero covid as an idea……and to open up business in HK.

Aviva has recently announced the purchase of succession….an IFA network that holds much of its funds on the MNG Wealth platform…obvs this is at risk of transfer to an Aviva platform.

Tilley Smith & Williamson is said to be for sale for 2.5-3bn. (AUM 57bn).
Quilter has nearly twice that AUA.
TSW may not fetch 3bn, but quilter looks to be significantly undervalued at around 2.5bn with 300m to be returned to shareholders shortly…..easily worth 4bn on comparable metrics.

One detail is that partial entitlements will be donated to charity…..if you want to make new investments you may want to ensure your holding divides by 7.

The fund raise is good news….not too much discount from the current sp…
Revenue results look promising….it seems the sales should pop higher quite quickly…the next results will be pivotal, but I am encouraged to buy more in my next isa subscription.

Today’s update suggests they could appoint a US or UK based auditor if their China business is less than half the business……the relative pricing in western markets makes this a possibility if approvals come through. It will be tight.

I agree with you that the issue is overblown and is likely to be resolved. I think it can only be resolved by Pcaob being allowed to inspect China and HK audit offices. Moving the audit office to a valid inspectable country just moves the problem as the large auditors in turn issue instructions to their local offices and rely on local standards and will not keep audit files on China operations in US/EUrope. As Davey pointed out the FDA has inspections of Chinese factories so why not auditors. I suspect there may be some industries dealing with Chinese govt that will not be allowed to be inspected, but pharma is unlikely to be one of these as I doubt Hutchmed would have data on CCP leaders being treated with their drugs.

As to the general share price, I am of the view that it is materially undervalued at present…..and those with along time horizon should hold or even add depending on their portfolio and risk capacity. Those with larger exposures should consider selling to diversify in future.
I am of the view that CKHH will sell down their exposure through a merger and this period may have accelerated this strategy…. that was their approach to start exiting from Oil and is their approach to telecoms.

To an irrelevant number…. Which if you add the recent dividend to has already been passed in total shareholder value.
Pipeline is still undervalued IMO and now that covid is receding and hospital trial can return we will see the innovators winning once more.

Finals today show a move back to net profit.
Could be on the mend…but obviously inflation and supply chain issues persist…..but these are industry wide issues wil DIA outperform it competition?

Amdizalisib is a P3IK delta and may be affected by this issue…who knows if the NMPA will adopt a similar stance and require more studies rather than accepting single arm studies.
The target market for (689) is China.
Presumably more cost and delay to launch can be expected.

Just to be clear I like fundamental analysis and don’t believe in charts, so not so quick to jump to conclusions.

I was pointing out the trend in the share price which if continued will run to zero in a few weeks, which is just the maths. My statement was meant to provoke and It has stimulated some constructive views of the company which I agree with.
The problem appears to me that the company does not clearly have enough cash and needs to raise funds v soon…2 years cash is a strong position, less than 12months is a weak one.

The terms will be much worse the longer it goes, I do expect a placing announced with te update next week.
