Your should DYOR before you invest in any stock, rather than seek guidence from whomever happens to be on this (or any) discussion board at the time of your post - he/she may not have knowledge or any clue whatsoever on the subject. Instead, check the Wood website, check the Sidara website, read the Wood RNS releases - and that's just for starters. After you have done all that, take a look at comments on this discussion board over the last couple of months at least and read the posts from 'experts' such as Icecool and Froggleboggles (with names like that what could possibly go wrong?!)...oh and be sure you have a sense of humour, you'll need it!! Lol

Ask yourself a question: Would you hand over cash in small chunks over time to buy a business you are interested in without formal documentation in place that confims the sale to you and that all terms and conditions have been met? Thought not.

Sidara is in the same boat. Sidara must now present and wait for court approval (i.e. offcial approval) of the scheme at the sanction hearing...it is not entirely beyond the possibility that shareholders may turn up at the court hearing to oppose (or support) the scheme for one reason or another. Further, antitrust and other regulatory approvals are required before the sale of Wood to Sidarra is 'rubber stamped'.

Given the above, any purchase of Wood shares by Sidara prior to completion carries an element of risk (albiet fairly low risk) i.e. in the event that the sale of Wood to Sidara is not formally approved by the 'powers that be'.

Therein endith the lesson.

Just read your post but I still do not understand why you think this is a bargain and appear to have bought a reasonable amount of £250K at over 24p (unless that was a quote you posted, not a buy?)...

Today the Wood share price closed at 23.70p...no surprise there. It is obvious that there is very little support for the Wood share price at 24-25p. This is why JO says the Wood share price will hover at 23-25p since suspension. The reality is that the Wood support level is circa 23 to 23.5p. This is why JO (who has significant funds invested mainly in tranches at circa 18p a few days prior to suspension and then circa 20p after suspension) will only add at 21p...or maybe 21.7p. JO has a hunch that the Wood share price may well drop to circa 21-22p late December or early January. Just a hunch mind...so don't get your hopes up! Lol

Given the slow progress to date, the complexity of Wood Group, and annoying side-shows like the ongoing FCA investigation, I expect June. In any case, JO's advice is to expect the worse and hope for the best. Investors (aka punters hoping for a quick win) ought not to be disappointed!

JO also says spare a thought for long-term investors and employees who have been well and truely led down the rather woody and murky garden path by Wood's senior management over the last several years, and as a result will make a loss. To those long-term investors who have taken the plunge and averaged down to circa 30p (and probably mortgaged the house to do so), well done - you can hopefully break even (or suffer only a few thousand in losses) when this sale is completed in HY2026.

And probably the year before that, and the year before that...Lol

Just to add another suggested amendment 'buy a John Wood share and get back 30p within HY2026'. Do not count on completion in a couple pf months, which implies end of January 2026. If it were that easy, the RNS would have been completion expected by Q12026. It would not surpirse, if the sale was completed in the final few weeks of HY2026...it is for this reason that investors will steer clear of Wood as between now and then there will continue to be other investment opportunties in companies, especially as the BOE lowers its official rate in December, and possibly again in January. Also, many investors look to invest for a time-line of 2-5 years with capital growth and dividends... unlike Wood, which is somewhat of a dead-end within 6-7 months as it is privatised and pays out a maximum 30p per share.

Not only that CH also announced access to $100M for investment etc. (another carrot dangler! )...CH accessed a massive, wait for it...$2.5M! And more recently opened a Data Centre for potential investors/partners (yet another carrot dangler!!)...and the annuncment of expressions of interest have been, wait for it...zero!

I thank you for the reminder. You are right, it is game, set, mmmaaatttccchhh Sidara! Trust me, the deal is done. Completely and utterly withut a shadow of a doubt.

A word to others here: The Wood share price - despite wishful thinking by some - will not leap and bound into 29p...not until the expected completion date is announced. In the meantime it will hover around 23-25p and quite rightly so. If you can't wait for the 30p, then you will be disappointed if you think it will climb to 28-29p. JO will stay invested until the full 30p is paid out.

The fat lady has sung loud and clear. It is all over. We are just waiting for the curtin to fall. As predicted by JO when Sidara first made their intention known...it is game, set, match Sidara 6-0, 6-0, 6-0. There is nothing left but to complete the deal at 30p per share.

I should have revised that to say stuck at 23-25p.

Yes Wood will reach 30p. Big deal...that is the maximum and will only be paid out sometime HY2026. An investment in Wood is a 'dead end' investment with a certainty of 30p at the end of the cul-de-sac. If that rocks your boat - then sink your cash into Wood and hope it completes quickly.

The reality is that there are better opportunities elsewhere. While heavily investment in Wood, JO will not top up at anything over 21p. Instead, JO will continue to invest elsewhere where the investment has no ceiling (unlike Wood where the ceiling is capped at 30p).

Futurehire - you carry on with your super-ramping and investing in Wood at 24-25p. Frankly my dear, JO doesn't give a damn.

Don't say JO didn't warn you. You snoozed when you should have bought at 18-20p. That my devious friend was the 'no-brainer'...anything over 24p is dumb investing i.e well after the horse has bolted.

The smart money was buying in 18-20p...and that moment has now passed. You snoozed, so you loozed. No amount of your ramping and posting how many shares you bought at the 'bargain' of 24.5p will lift the Wood share price.

The fact is that there are far better investment opportunities in the stock market right now vs buy Wood's stock at circa 24-24p and sell for 30p 'sometime' in HY2026. Everyone knows it, hence the Wood price remains 'stuck at 24-25p.

When the RNS is released that states 'The sale of Wood to Sidara is due to be completed on X date' (i.e.sometime in HY2016) then that is when the Wood share price will climb from 24-25p to circa 28p. Everything else between now and then is all noise.

Any update on anticipated timeframe to connection...let alone production? Nope.
