RE: Second director purchase5 Oct 2022 12:20
Hi ITT. I got about half way through JC talking became bored. All he was doing was reading of the usual PowerPoint presentation, after all this time he should know the script backwards. I've dealt with and spoken to many CEOs and directors and the biggest thing is they can hold and audience without prompts. One of the best was one from Amazon I saw at a symposium, brilliant guy and I came away believing everything he spoke about, never used one note or prompt and took questions on the hoof as they say.
Anyway I digress. As far as I watched it was as I suspected the same old theme. When JC compared a football crowd leaving the game and the cell going down due to the data levels compared to CYANs offering it was embarrassing, he is comparing apples with oranges. The level of data CC manages will be next to nothing compared to a mobile phones normal usage.
JC alluded to an 80USD price point for end to end per provision? .That's about £90. Now if he truly means end to end, making the meter, delivery and connecting , setting up the meter, cost of building the data infrastructure etc etc that seems very low. While I understand there is a level of cost v quantity I hate to think what CC is getting for their piece. Even at 10% of overall delivery it's only about £9 per unit. Hopefully the licence revenue will produce a bit more.
India is and will continue to screw suppliers down with promises of big numbers. Incidentally I cringed when JC said, "happy to take crumbs that fall off the big boys table" maybe put JC on a lead and sit him at the feet of whoever sits at "the top table" and awards the contracts.
Top CEO JC is not, probably why he's hung around so long. Less than impressed.
